Drove a 1967 Barracuda as my first car. Picking up a similar one soon as I have always regretted not hanging on to that one. So many good memories from that car. Looking forward to reading other posts and seeing what information and/or parts may be available.

THAT IS NOT a vented cap. That is an evap controlled, pressure/ vacuum cap. In other words it is for pressure release. Be careful. Those caps changed almost yearly. There is an old photo posted by I think Steve, OldManMopar, showing the changes over the years.

Yes ago they were the only reason I could finialy step up to a stroker engine and get rid of my stock junk. I ran 8.60@155mph with their 500CI stroker kit and 8.42@160mph with their rods.

agree. if you do need to swap the heads at some point I'd look at upgrading the cam if it's a stock 318 cam.

Your tank vent is here. It likely goes to the charcoal canister at the front of the car. If that’s gone you can make your own vent line. I made one for an A body in the style of a 68/69 road runner and it worked well. You could also use a 1967-1969 filler neck with a non vented cap. Good luck

@Oldmanmopar Thanks for that info, the k-member should be good and straight (or so I hope) as I switched from the original /6 to v8 member that bolted up nice and straight without issue. I'll take that measurement though to be on the safe side.

Carb jetting or HardBlok in the water jackets ? Compression test may show if any excess ring friction in the bores is causing heat and wear and checking a magnetic drain plug for iron particles or even an oil analysis can find other friction/wear/heat sources.
