That idle feed is only like .025 very small , if comes out go .002 bigger, comensate for todays leaner fuel. If does not come out go down from top with welders tip cleaner.

That 85-53 clean out plug for idle tube, tap metering block on solid surface falls right out.

Pull both valve covers and the oil pan for a look. You may want to remove a main cap and rod cap to check for signs of bearing damage and crap in the bearings. Look for metal flake in the pan. In the valve covers look for undue rust, broken spring or a dropped valve. Many engines have been sold...
