    I did the smart thing and looked up casting on the intake... makes more sense right. Turns out to be a 340-4 intake from a 73. Thanks again for the help guys.

    I was told a block I hot had a purple cam in it. Now that I have it out I don't think it's a purple cam. Can anyone help ID it by stamp/cast numbers? stamped in back is 150062CD on top, the bottom has 69-37-098 stamped on top of 42z63-0? casting is 1136, c1, d1, b8, and a big 03 by distributor...

    Okay, I had a 318 given to me. The block is clearly stamped 318, but with a block code that I think reads 2506080. Does this code mean anything or is this the production number? I ask because it has a four barrel intake on it. It's a factory chrysler intake but almost looks to big for the 318...

    This is just an idea ive let bounce around my head. It may not happen, i might just get a factory SB k member and the front end pieces and do a blow through turbo set up with the 318/360 head combo.

    I thought about using a frame off of a Dakota, but I would rather put spring mounts on the subframe and run the car how it is. I feel it would be cheaper just to put mounts on the car since my uncle can custom make and weld the mounts for me.

    Thats why i posted again saying to upgrade charging wires. Yes we run about 3 runs of 1/0 wire per 300a alt. I forgot to mention in my first post but did post it in a second post.

    Upgrading your charging wire off the alternator is a good idea. Factory thin wire will restrict current causing it to heat up and can burn. The factory wire is only there to handle what the factory alt puts out.

    ...need to make sure it has a regulator. A bigger alt just has to do less work. Maube its different for old cars, but a friends 82 suburban ran 2 250a without a problem. *Some are externally regulated which if you dont regulate will cause a battery to charge over 12-14v which can hurt electronics*
