If you resort to drilling and retaping the hole.... Bolt the water pump back on. A drill bit the same size as the hole in the pump casting will make you a nearly perfect center in the broken bolt. Fecking up whats showing with vise grips can make matters worse.

Only engine I recall that would send the balancer away from a stop light without the vehicle attached was a 4 cyl. in a Chevette. Around 1980 model.

Have you listened to the fuel pump? there isn't a mechanical fuel pump that I haven't heard make a noise. Good luck with it

These were removed because they didn't work with most aftermarket carbs. There is a alternate base plate but it can be hard to find too.

Through 1973 that tubing was flattened at the finger loop. 74 and later finger loops are round and plugged. I think plugs are color coded to application also. They aren't all red

I got the line at Advance Auto. I didn't ask if they had the brass compression union. Got it at Lowes

Part stores have the 5/16 tubing in various lengths. It has a flare on both ends so cut halves gets you 2 shots at bending what you need to replace just a portion of the original line and make it up with a brass compression union. Threading the entire pre bent line into place isn't always easy.

Cardboard placed between radiator and fan on the way out and going back in Two wrenches at cooler line fittings. Be sure to blow out that fluid cooler before reinstalling. Some radiator shops dont blow their nasty water out of them.

It looks like you have both caps attached to vacuum ports. I dont know how that would cause excessive crankcase pressure. I know one cap should be a breather and take in fresh air. Vacuum and pcv valve at the other.

Beware.. More that one case posted here where a aftermarket braided metal cable sheathe chaffed through wiring at the firewall and caused engine bay fire. Maybe a slant 6 application provides more clearance. Good luck with it.
