UTG is a character and as such, great for amusement and tid bits of information. Ever notice that his builds are poorly prepared and sidelined with mechanical issues that he professes to know how to repair or build properly the 1st time. Utube can make anyone a "star"?
Found a pair of '64 Valiant doors in a salvage yard. I've been looking for '65 Dart door as molds for fiberglass replacements. Both the same less trim? THX
I have a '65 with 904 and that needed a few dings to be able to bolt it in. I should be able to get 300HP from the build. Can I assume that a '68 factory 340 bellhousing won't fit? I'd be using the same '68 4 spd too. Car has the pedals and linkage from the '66 factory set up.
Came across a '66 Dart that I am thinking of cloning a D Dart for road racing. Anyone have the original specs for the bell, clutch and flywheel and what's out there for modern performance?
You need to treat the 273 like a 283. If you know the original history of the 273/4, it bested all the sb until the 283/4 showed up. There is a reason that TRW made a .070 high top piston or the 273. It will take a .060 without any problems provided the core checks out. Then its the heads and...
I'm aware of the trans member. Thought that somebody out there may have figured a factory system with bigger pipes. I've got a bit more HP than stock and want to keep the sleeper look.
I bought my '65 dart as as roller, so I have no reference. I'd prefer to run factory routed exhaust system with my 365 HP 273 and not modify the drivers tranny mount. Probably a 2 1/2 pipe. Seeing the route is better for me to see what's in store. Thanks
I found a link on this site several years ago, a white Valiant ran SS/K, I think, 273 4 speed. Lost the link. I believe the car ran out of MN and had Victory on the doors. Any help?
For my last daily driver, 1965 Dart 4 door,318,400HP to be completed, I need a radiator. Saw this one at Summit
1965 DODGE DART Summit Racing® Performance Fit Aluminum Radiators SUM-384034
Any good or a better selection? Thanks
The front end needs some refreshing. The Dart should be on the street by summer. Track only cars are not in the mix right now. Thought that I could take advantage of radial tires by having a sway bar up front. The 68 Dart UCA are in very good condition. Its been 30+ years since I've driven old...
I think this is the best solution. I've had 3 sets of the headman header on a 65 and 66 drag cars. They take lots of dinging to get them to work, even w/o an inner fender well.
I think that the 63 was not friendly towards a V8. Found a nice 63(not a rust bucket and easy to be street worthy). I think the /6 is toast or close to it. Have a 273 on the engine stand. Will it fit? Fit with headers? Is there something with the heater core or wiper motor that's an issue?
What body parts are similar to swap, ext. and int.? I came across a 65 project car and found a 64 parts car in another location. Don't have either in hand, just want to know what would work if I pull the trigger. THX
I remember that my Dad was given a great deal on a showroom special 1965 4 door 273/4 Dart, that he bought during the Presidents Day sale in 1966. I distinctly remember washing the car in the springtime and the tires were 14". I looked in the tech manual and nothing listed about the tire size...
Yes, that's the style. My experience with china mirrors is everything is sssssooooooooooo china that nothing works well. Any reputable brands with this same styling?
What do I need to put front sway bar on a '65 Dart. I have done the big upper controls arms and using the F body spindles and brakes. Moving the car from strict strip to street/strip. Thanks
Not much space in the trans tunnel for the 904, so I think that a 10 1/2 clutch and shield won't work. What's the solution? Fenderwell headers and to any problems?
