SM Head Modifications on a budget

Dude you have to work the chamber wall, especially when you go to a larger valve! The pinch won't show you anything until you unlock seat area (bottom of the valve job to the deck).

Question: What is the Best timing chain setup LA or Magnum

Doesn’t matter if it’s a timing chain or gear drive, I always drill and tap the cam plate for 10/32 and I drill a Holley air bleed to about .040ish and screw it into the plate. I also screw the jet in from the back.

I would guess it's the switch in the console if your bulbs and fuses are good. If I remember right the bulb socket grounds directly to the body, easy to check if there's corrosion.

Made Some Titanium 440 Crankshaft Damper Bolts & Washers Today

The heat has been pretty oppressive the last two weeks in Indiana, so I figured it was time to get this project done and spend some time in the AC. I took a couple 7/8" diameter 12-point titanium aircraft bolts I bought off eBay years ago and made them into crankshaft damper bolts. Titanium is...

Raised up with a baffle too. People can maybe direct a future buyer to @TF360 to help find a worthy new home for this rare part. Thanks for posting up the pictures. ☆☆☆☆☆

Question: What is the Best timing chain setup LA or Magnum

I'm in the middle of changing out my stub frame and if I can get to it, I was thinking of installing Cloyes C3028 (low-budget double roller chain) and trying the cloyes 95387 tensioner (some comments about the 3028 chain is that it's loose even when new?). I don't know what chain I have now...

Anyone have this decal on their car? Dodge Quarter Call Outs.

I have the new decals. I was sent the wrong ones by a graphics company when I bought the over the roof and hood black out. I am replacing them with the right ones. I always hated them. Wife likes them so. I might not notice I changed them. But would notice them gone (No longer there at all) The...

70 Swinger Rally Dash Lights Dim

I had the same issue. I think the dash lighting was just poorly designed. I did the LED strip lighting upgrade. The gauges are actually visible now while driving in the city at night. I did several posts in this thread on the lighting the cluster, but you can check post 57 and 61 for the...

    Head gasket woes

Not having a true flat deck could very well be an issue BUT what jumped out at me was the “Hookie” inconsistency reported on torque loads on tightening. Run a thread shader to clear and clean the threads the bolts are going into and use the ARP lube all around the threads thinly but completely...

    Bearing retainer sizes

Be aware that as for the A-body output shafts; there are two of them; one for 904-sized slip-yokes and another for 727 sized yokes. And the extension housings are similarly sized. So then, if yur buying on-line, make sure you get the right one. Also, they all come either cast-iron cased or...

    Member’s 1968 GT "personalization".

Gonna have to modify the brake hose connection mount to retain these challenger hoses. I’m not gonna search because all the stuff that fit anything uses banjo bolts. This will be easy and effective. Won’t reach here But I’ll move the mount here. Clears the shock and all moving parts...

What front brake hoses on a 72 to 73 disk brake conversion

I searched and this is where I’m at. I have 73/4 Challenger calipers. The hose threads in. The hose will not reach the factory rear mount on a 68 Dart. But, with a slight mod, these hoses will be fine. Yes, no it’s not “correct”. But that’s why I am the way I am! I wanna go not show! Factory...

440 power gains/ aluminum head advantages?

Put it on lifter down in the valley multiply by 1-1/2 there your lift. Or use a cupped pushrod, dowel, brake line, copper tubing, laying against the rocker shaft (keep it straight up and down) all measurement can be taken off the lifter. On what you made you’re getting into preload of lifter
