The slot needs to point to the very front intake manifold bolt on the driver's side, according to the book. I like following that procedure, because it allows for the most distributor movement with the vacuum advance.

It's called assumin, which is really dangerous. lol

The two wires with terminals probably go on to the other side of the motor in the parking plate

That looks clean! What fitting did you use to connect the filter to the stock hard line?

You might want to drill a small hole in the cork or it could build pressure and pop out with acid

Personally I would not use the generic bushing kit. Either have them professionally rebuilt OR buy new. Alternately you could find good used right hand hinges. They typically get less ware. Flip the pin if you want but I would just install it and not worry

I was curious. It does seem to be pointing between cylinder 1 and 3. So I assume the issue would be that the distributor won't be in the most desirable position? But it should still work, correct?

I think only a couple of years. Deric Kramer was the first to use one, now a few others have them.

With the remote mirrors, the base sizes are the same. The '67-up manual mirror bases are a little bigger than the '66 and older ones. Different shape too.
