Wasn’t the E58 basically a 360 a 340 cam? The 74 360 4 speed Duster was among the quickest cars of the year if I recall correctly.

Orange heads could be a good sign. You need to pull a rocker cover and see the casting and date.

The engine turns freely.....therefore the distributor is turning with it? Distributors are cheap. You can get it out!

A black shirt is hotter in the sun than a white one. But according to those who say black dissipates heat, a black engine on a stand should run cooler, even in the sun, than a blue or orange one. Makes zero sense to me. Black absorbs heat? That I agree with. Hence the black shirt.

Interesting. Same date as mine, 3 castings different.

Not sure if I missed it, but I kinda thought that different numbers during casting would allow easier tracking down on blocks that had imperfections. 1 vs 2. 2 being fine but 1 having issues it would be a simple find.

Not necessarily Blueprint, but you said it right there. If the T/A does not exist any more, it is likely that someone in the know will be aware of the fact. If it is, someone would probably be very happy to reunite it. There are people who will pay you a good dollar for that engine. Granted...
