"Salma" turned 59 years old today! Built 4/29/1965 in Hamtramck. Hopefully I'll have all the bodywork done by the time she turns 60... I'm still chasing an ATF leak. It's still at that spot where the pan has a little cut out for the park lock housing. I think that modern gasket is not made...

    What gets a car moving?

as for bolt-ons with an 8/1 318 1) a compression test. You gotta have all eight working. 2) a higher stall, and a tune up 3) rear gears 4) a 4bbl/a free-flowing exhaust system, and more tuning. But if it was me The first thing I would do is crank the Pressure up. Maybe then I don't need all...

    Another 318 set up

I your other thread about this, I explained it this way, Say you got to push your car into the garage, the force applied to the car is basically torque and the foot steps you take are basically rpm, it takes both to move the car you can push on it all day long but until you take a step a your...

Are Speedmaster Heads Good? I've Heard a Lot of Bad Press on Edelbrock 340 Heads Lately

I am thinking flow numbers off the top of my head. I'm sure the cnc Speedmasters wouldn't come close to the TF's and the cnc TF's probably flow less than a untouched W2. I don't know the numbers. Just guessing.

    Another 318 set up

Hp is what moves your car and hp is made from torque and rpm, in a street car rpm is somewhat fixed, peak hp tends to be in the 4500-5500 rpm range give or take so there's a little wiggle room for rpm but torque can very from like 150-700+ lbs-ft so torque will generally have more effect in a...

Are Speedmaster Heads Good? I've Heard a Lot of Bad Press on Edelbrock 340 Heads Lately

Mmmm since the TrickFlow heads are ported we gotta compare them to ported W2 heads. And that’s no comparison as the W2 heads would kick the TrickFlow heads butt.

A-body armrest - stripped threads in door’s sheet metal

I might add that a larger screw might do the job for the forward hole but rear hole might be too big for this to work.

A body with an A833 and a Gear Vendor installed

They should work in any 833 even the aluminum OD version but someone mentioned something about having to make sure about the reverse gear meshing correctly. I would mention it to Jamie when you call.

Yup, I get it however I picked up 2/10's just from upping my launch RPM from 3000 to 3600. I'm going to try 4000 next time out. Plus it should pick up at least a tenth just going to my home track so that with removing the exhaust and air cleaner, getting the tune right with the right converter...

Are Speedmaster Heads Good? I've Heard a Lot of Bad Press on Edelbrock 340 Heads Lately

Let's see, Unported Speedmasters out of the box to CNC Ported Trick Flows. The Speedmasters are 1 small step better than OOTB Edelbrock's and ported Trick flows are a step away from W2's. They better give you 50 horsepower on an engine like that.

A-body armrest - stripped threads in door’s sheet metal

Need suggestions vs enlarged holes in door panel sheet metal which won’t hold the arm rest. I ordered the clips in the picture but, with panel removed, I don’t see any way to keep clips in place on the back side of the metal. Back side of door’s sheet metal is very difficult to reach. Would...
