    Advice on potential gear swap

Yes Oldmanmopar, current stall of TC is my biggest concern here. So in your opinion, what's 'too high' of a ratio? I do have a aux tranny cooler and a trans temp gauge to keep an eye on it, but don't wanna be creating more problems than it's worth. Also have seen a 3.08 (harder to find) and...

    Torqueflite 904 rear seal

I let a newly installed rear seal sit without driving for a couple of months. Leaked like a siv in my garage. Drove her a bit today , no more leak. Normal? Is break in needed or should she have been fluid tight from the beginning? Torqueflite 904 on a 65 valiant. Any input appreciated! Lost...

A body with an A833 and a Gear Vendor installed

Changing a B/E body trans to an A-body involves changing the tail, the Mainshaft, and usually the rear bearing. Additionally, the B-body front retainer will not fit into the standard A-body BH. This is an easy fix by using the A/F-body overdrive BH and front retainer. Some guys have machined the...

    72 duster resto

i'd always steer toward alum aftermarket heads if the price was the same or close. but! brand new heads still need to be checked out, they're rarely ready to run OOTB... which means a trip to the machine shop and mas dinero. and then tack on some more coin if you need to update...

    What gets a car moving?

Kind of like Ohms law but for cars Hp/RPM (voltage) to go the distance Torque (amperage) gets it going Load (resistance) what gets done Transmission (transformer) converts voltage or RPM into torque (high voltage low amps into lower voltage higher amps) Or something like that

Shows what an unlimited pocket book can do. Most of us guys here in the trenches can't afford that swap. We have all to do to keep our 50 year old cars running.

    Advice on potential gear swap

I would no go to high of a ratio with that converter. Getting the converter up close to its rpm stall at highway speeds would be good. If not you'll be slipping it to hard and make hydraulic heat.

    Advice on potential gear swap

i think the best compromise gear is always 3.23, but i can certainly see the appeal of a 2.94 and i don't think i would personally go to a 2.76 unless i was specifically building a car for long haul road tripping. given your cam specs, with those long legs it'll change the overall behavior of...
