    Metal prep

Thanks for all the replies. I mistakenly said 16ga but 18ga is what I bought for floor pans. The paint stripping disc suggested by GaryS sounds like a logical way to remove the surface rust. I'm going to start forming the pans tonight and I've got a bead roller so strengthening the new pans...

    Metal prep

I'm getting ready to replace my floor pans (64 Signet Conv.) so I called the local steel supplier and bought a 4x8 sheet of 16 ga.. When I got there to pick it up the sheet it was covered with surface rust. My question to you all is what should I do with it? Should I lightly sand the whole...

    64 Barracuda Parts

Hello all. I know this may be the wrong forum for this but there's a guy on CL that advertised a rear window. I got some wheel well molding off of him last night for $20 . He says he's got the whole car. It was a project his son started. It's apparently all tore down and now his son has...

    Floor Pans

Thanks for the info. I was looking at one of Harbour Freights bead rollers. Looks like it ought to do the job. I hear that something called Panel Bond is the prefered method now day over mig welding in panels. Anyone have any experience with this stuff? Is it all they say it is? Jeff

    Patch Panels

Does someone make floor pans for the 1964 Valiant? Particularily the rear ones. I've seen later ones advertised but not '64. If not, does anyone know what guage material was used in the floor boards? Thanks, Jeff

    Transmission Vent?

OK. Thanks guys. Been driving her two days now with no puking incidents. I'm thinking the o-ring fixed my problem but won't be for sure until I park it a couple of days.

    Transmission Vent?

Is there a vent on a transmission (A904) like there is on the rear differential? My tranny was puking out of the dipstick tube after setting idle for a period of time, sometimes overnight sometimes after a couple of days. As long as I was driving it regularly it wouldn't puke. I found the o-ring...

    O-ring size?

Any one know the correct o-ring size for the dip stick tube on an A904? Mine was leaking so I pulled the tube and found the o-ring that was on it to be damaged. I've got one from work that looks like it ought to work but after pulling this one and draining a quart of tranny fluid all over the...

    Carb. leak

What's the best way to fix a leaky carb. float bowl gasket. The cork gasket seem to las awhile but eventually leaks. I've tried cutting new ones and they all seem to only last a short period of time. Is rtv a better solution? How did you all that had this same issue fix this problem? Thanks, Jeff

How do you open a starter?

Seriously, I've electrically opened two starters in the last month. I was starting the car ('64 Valiant, 225 /6), the starter solenoid pulled in but the starter didn't spin. Pulled the starter off and read open between the started stud and the case. The solenoid read about 1 ohm between the the...
