Thanks for all the replies folks! Yeah my worry is rot also. I already have a quarter panel that needs replacing and i'd rather only do that once. Maybe I'll just have to save my pennies and buy something real cheap that 4wd. i guess rust wont matter if its just gonna rust more.

Valiant scamp 2 door runs and drives great. Body is pretty solid, needs passenger quarter panel. All glass good. Looking for a dodge pickup with a slant or 318. 2 or 4wd. Must be running and reliable with solid frame but ugly is fine. 1985ish or earlier.

Previously posted looking for 4wd but am willing to go for 2wd. Just want an older dodge. Slant six preferred but I'm open to offers. My scamp is running great but I need to do a lot of work on a new house and need to carrying capacity. Anyone out there with a d100?

I have a 1972 scamp, slant six 225 68k miles auto, runs and drives no structural rust, good glass and interior. Converted to LBP discs up front. Would love to trade for functional 4wd dodge truck. open to suggestions. PM me or respond here. Will post pics tonight.

Thanks guys, my slant six oil leak just got WAY worse this week and I'm afraid it may be time to pull the whole works and go through all the seals. I'm leaving a 1 quart puddle of trans/10/30 every night.

Drove the scamp from Brooklyn out to my folks lake house in Hopatcong NJ. 100+ miles round trip. Did really well! 20mpg average (based on my gps, the speedo is busted), it used a lot of coolant (need to instal an overflow tank) but it felt amazing to put the miles on it. Me and my lady then...

pulled it out and noticed rust on the inside of the steel ring that the magnet seems to interact with. all the plastic gears seem solid. going to sand off the rust, lube and re-install and see if that does it. looks like the wiper seals are leaking so i ordered those and will install at the same...
