Doing an alignment in the driveway on a 72 scamp

I've had my scamp in twice to have the alignment done at local shops who make no promises (because the machine doesn't have the numbers) been through a pair of tires and just tired of it. I know alignment is a touchy thing and most people just take their car in to have a pro do it but it seems...

I know a lot of you have cars far to nice to see action it he winter but as my attempts at trading my valiant for a 4wd truck have (not surprisingly) failed. It looks like I'll be driving the scamp this winter. My job requires me to be available...

I have a 1972 scamp with a 225 slant six, power steering, AC and no smog pump. Bought the car with 1 belt running to the alternator (from the water pump) and one running to the power steering pump (from the crank). there are unoccupied grooves on the crank and water pump and on the ac that line...

front end swapped to disks, what axles do i need to swap in so my lug patterns match?

The PO on my scamp was ambitious enough to swap out the front drums to discs and rebuild the front suspension, but now i'm left with two different wheel sizes which makes carrying a spare sort of a gamble. Is the simplest solution to just swap out the axles? If so what am I looking for and what...

904 column shifter binding after R&R of steering column.

Recently I had to drop my steering column to remove the instrument cluster from my 72 scamp with a slant six and 904 auto. To get the clearance needed I removed the three bolts holding the column up to the dash, and the bolts holding the flange to the firewall and three or four other bolts...

If i read up under the dash (yes while driving) and push or pull on the speedo cable it sill sometimes stop. It seems like the speedo gear may...
