Mike's '67 Fastback Featuring Super Slow Progress

If I recall correctly is attaches with two bolts on the bottom of the fender, the tabs can be seen on the fenders in the picture. Mine was put on with multiple different size bolts though.

    Modern Mopar!

Not a fan of the new dart overall, but I don't really like mid-sized cars that much. The Hellcat is sweet and the sales numbers are insane for the Challenger as a whole right now, which will work perfectly for me in about three years when I should have the funds for a nice three year old R/T!

    Cuda SRT8 392 Gen.III Hemi

The zinc is AFIK used as a sacrificial metal for corrosion, it will be attacked instead of the steel. Similar to zinc anodes on the side of ships.

    6.1 hydro ticking

Without hearing a sound clip, I would say it is most likely normal. Depending on the year in my experience at least some years are louder than others. I had a 2004 and a 2006 truck which were really loud, my 2009 Jeep is not as loud. The sound does go away after it warmers up.

You don't mess around do you? It looks nice shaved down. I think the center needs to be there as well.

    383 or 5.7 hemi

I have a run of the mill 67 fastback, nothing special just a 273/904 both of which need a full rebuild. I am planning on a 5.7 with 545 swap. If your car is a super clean example I would lean toward keeping it as it is. If it is like mine which needs lots of work, might as well well make it...

    Challenger ripped in half accident

At least nobody was in the car with him or was collected in the resulting carnage. We had an incident here where a Hellcat was travelling at high rate of speed in traffic and was captured on dash cam but not caught. It started a discussion on the local car club's bookface page about some guys...

    1967 Cuda FB project

This got my mind working yesterday and I talked with a guy who used to build hot rods. He would weld in some round stock between where the glass would go and the body to fill the glass to get the flush look. I think on our cars we would need a piece of flat stock to raise the glass to flush...

    6.4 Jeep SRT8 Exhaust Manifolds

The part numbers you listed earlier are the same as the ones in my 2009 Grand Cherokee parts manual for the 5.7 engine, the only thing that changed is the removal of the EGR valve which happened I believe after '07. It's the only parts manual I have so I can't say anything about compatibility...

2005 Jeep Liberty 3,7 tune up labor & prices?

Sounds a bit steep to me having had a couple 3.7s in the past. All of the maintenance on it can be done in the driveway, plugs, TB cleaning, diff and transfer case fluids. The only thing I can think of is depending on what transmission it has, if it can be serviced by the owner or needs the a...

    6.4 Jeep SRT8 Exhaust Manifolds

Those Commander manifolds look very similar to the ones on my '09 Grand Cherokee, which is a stock 5.7. It is hard to get a good look at the shape because of the heat shield, but the exit angle looks the same.

Mike's '67 Fastback Featuring Super Slow Progress

When I grew up my grandpa had loads of antique cars which were perfectly restored, won a bunch of show with some, the best was a Bantam pickup. He had Model A's, Hupmobiles, MG's all kinds of different stuff. I truly appreciate numbers matching complete factory restorations. I had intentions...

Mike's '67 Fastback Featuring Super Slow Progress

I am following your build, while I don't have much thin metal experience I do have a fair amount of welding background and what I think is the basic amount of metal fab skill not to absolutely destroy the thing. I am also following your situation. I am afraid that is what mine looks like...

Mike's '67 Fastback Featuring Super Slow Progress

I originally wasn't planing on having it blasted, now I am pretty sure I might have to. I know the rear rails need to come off, the passenger side is capped.

auto dark welding helmets what U use

I use a Jackson Nexgen, I used it all though school started with theirs then bought my own. It has auto dark up to 10 I believe and a setting which slightly darkens it for grinding as well. The best feature is the auto off, saves them batteries.

Mike's '67 Fastback Featuring Super Slow Progress

Thanks, I figured with the bumper covering it, it shouldn't be too big a deal. I am more than likely going to be dropping a 5.7 in so I am leaning towards a stiffer rad support. Im sure some one makes one of those as well.

Mike's '67 Fastback Featuring Super Slow Progress

Forgot to add, a couple days ago I finished pulling the rear trim out. Most of it is in decent shape, the passenger side reveal is pretty rusty on the back, I am not sure it can be saved. What it did reveal is kind of what I suspected. I knew the hole on the trunk had to come from somewhere...

Mike's '67 Fastback Featuring Super Slow Progress

Got ambitious last night and started to remove front end stuff, it started out as let's see what behind the grill looks like, but turned into every thing but the fenders and hood came off. All while watching my two year old and keeping her in the yard. I ended up having to leave the...

Mike's '67 Fastback Featuring Super Slow Progress

She can be a trooper, back when we first started on this car 10 years ago we rebuilt the front suspension, I openly hate greasing things, she grabbed the tub and packed the bearings with a smile! Of course she is out of commission for a bit while I was at a car show today (my six year olds...

Mike's '67 Fastback Featuring Super Slow Progress

    Stayin in!

I have always been an introvert, when i was in my early 20's (for reference I am 35) in the Marines I was in England and all my friends would want to go out dancing and partying every night we could, we also had a bar in our barracks. The only way I could go was if I got absolutely blasted...

'70 Hemi Cuda with 81 miles goes to auction.

Stuff like this makes me sad. A machine is made to run, my car has been parked for 10 years and couldn't run even if I wanted it to and I apologize to it every time I go into the garage. Friends on facebook are putting pictures of my old ship up while it sits pier side waiting for the torches...
