I drilled out the post and put a cap screw in it's place. Everything works but because I had to screw in the cap screw enough so the mirror would have clearance the whole unit moves very hard. Did you have the same issue? Thanks

Thanks for the link - I took a look and the 67 mirror is a different setup than mine. My mirror is only held in place by the 'ball' and the shaft that goes to the back of the mirror.

I think that there are two different types of these sport mirrors. I have another one that has two screws that would allow you to take out the 'ball' and the mirror part. Mine doesn't have that it only has the 'ball' that is attached to the back of the mirror.

Does anyone know how to disassemble a sport mirror? I have the mirror (glass) off and have access to the 'ball' but I can't get it out so I can repair the cross bar and put in new mirror glass. This is on the passenger side so no cables. Anyone know were I can get a replacement for the mirror...

I have a 1973 Dart Sport with the fold down door into the trunk. I need to get a rim and tire for the spare to put in the trunk but want to make sure I get the right size so the trunk carpet will fit flat over the tire. Does anyone know the size of rim and tire I should get? Thanks

My rear view mirror from my 74 dart is very hard to move around so I'm trying to take it apart and clean it. I can get everything dissembled except the part on the mirror body that will give me access to the mirror 'swivel' piece. Can anyone tell me how to get this apart? Thanks

I am positive I have the horn wire/horn relay switch. When I jump between sockets 1 & 3 (per the flow chart) the horn sounds so I have to have the right wires. So are you saying that the wire from the horn switch is shorted out or crossed up in the harness between the horn switch and the horn...

Odd that the detail instructions are not the same as the flow chart. So I followed the instructions from 8-81 but I can't do the first thing they say to 'replace the Horn Relay with a know good relay' because I don't have another relay handy and none of the parts stores carry one. I moved on...

The sparking at the steering wheel is what I would consider excessive - it actually left a couple of marks on the metal. According to the shop manual its not the horn relay its a 'Faulty horn button switch connections or wiring'.
