Mine is clipped right to the front of the radiator ,lower ,middle. 10 inch by 10 inch square shape and about 1/2 inch thick. running a 318 w purple shaft cam 360j heads with a 904. I have a 360 block at the machine shop being bored .040 over and a Isky cam, needed a little more kick lol

How do you to tell the difference from a 904 to a 999 - 998 externally by just looking at them lying on the floor, or is this not possible with out a tear down?

stock linkage is what I have. I found a 727 with a stall and is supposed to be in good shape. Now I either buy a stall for my stock 904 or add a few $$$ and get this 727 but I don't want to be chasing parts and I know I will need a new drive shaft with the 727

O.K. if I mount a 727 in place of my 904 will the linkage from the 904 work ? Am I going to run into problems or will it bolt right in.

Thanks, I should have my 360 built by next week so I am going to get me a new stall and run it. I like the way you did the 5 clutch pack and when I need to I am going to try the same by grinding the plate.

Did you have to buy a new front drum to accept the extra plates or is it a matter of me just buying a kit. No I have never built a trans. But over the winter I would try, I can always take the box of parts to the trans guy LOL. I did buy a book and it tells of the 998,999 being behind the 360...

I had a trans shop hook up the kick down linkage as well as the throttle cable. Well tonight my friend suggested to look at the throttle pull off the peddle and its only pulls it 45% the two back barrels don't come close to opening. I have locar cables to the carb, I can't see that shorting them...

At an idle my volt gage reads to the negative a bit but when I increase the idle the volt reading goes positive, am I not charging correctly? Belt is tight and no slipping.

What is distributor been recurved? I am running the stock distributor. Vacuum advance hose goes to the front passenger side of carb near bowl ? She stays running in gear with the idle high but seams to be high in park. No tach yet
