Missing lower end parts on steering column?

I've dismantled the standard column from my 74 duster and I think there might be some missing parts. My repair manual and most other online info has told me there should be a lower bearing, which I don't have. Here I have loosely reassembled the steering shaft, shift tube, and outer unnamed...

    Question on steering shaft couplers

I was looking online for a coupler rebuild kit and found one on Autozone's website. The photo represented what looks like the right parts but their automatic compatibility filter said otherwise. Are there different styles in A-bodies? I'd imagine it's a pretty universal part.

    No charge at battery

Alright, here we go again. I've had this problem for a while, and it's really been messing with my head the whole time. I asked about it in this other thread about a year ago now, where 67dart and Mattax tried their best to help, but unfortunately to no avail. I recently got inspired to tackle...

    Intake/exhaust manifold nut trouble

Got close to removing the intake manifold off today on my slant 6, but I was stopped be one rusty nut in the most inconvenient location, basically hiding behind the exhaust manifold where the auto choke sits. This photo should give you an idea. I cant see any way of reaching this nut with a...

    Reasons for excessive exhaust smoke?

This is a recent occurrence, just started a couple start-ups ago. I'm pretty sure it's burning oil but could be wrong. The exhaust is near invisible at first, as normal, but will start getting REAL smokey within 30 seconds of running. I think it's burning oil because I changed the oil last month...

    Quick question concerning pedal

In good working condition and NOT attached to the push rod, how freely should the pedal be able to swing? With the push rod not attached on my 74 duster the pedal isnt seized, but I have to put <~5 pounds pressure on the pedal to move it either direction.

Front drum to disk brakes conversion.

I'm planning on doing a front brake conversion using parts provided to me by the previous owner of my 74 duster. He gave me calipers and new seals, front suspension parts, matching rotors, disk/drum master cylinder, a -possibly wilwood- proportioning valve, and a few other irrelevant parts. I...

    Engine bay management tips?

I'm not looking to work on this anytime soon, simply dont have time or money right now, but I wanted some other opinions on this. My engine bay looks very messy currently, with various dilapidated hoses and wires going every which way. The vacuum system is a mess, but intact enough for the...

Dent solution on rear right corner?

My '74 Duster has a significant dent directly on the body line on the rear right corner of the car. It looks like the previous owner made an attempt to fix it, as there are several small bumps. This damage is also affecting the taillight seal between the housing and body, as seen pictured.

    Testing coolant temp sensor?

Hey y'all, I recently replaced the instrument voltage limiter in my 74 duster because the temp and fuel guages were shooting up. I think the fuel guage is working now, but now the temp guage won't move at all. My initial thought was that the sensor or wire could be bad. I was wondering if anyone...

Rubber diaphragm above the dimmer switch?

Can anyone tell me what the heck this thing is? It must have something to do with water, since water kind of dribbles when I press on it with my foot. ('74 Duster)

    Large-scale Duster electrical issue

This may be a little large for one post but, I recently got a '74 Plymouth Duster that starts, runs, and moves great; however, none of the dash lights (instrument panel, gear indicator, climate control, radio), turn signals, or brake lights work properly. While I was messing around with the...
