Had a 340 with the same what sounds like the same problem. When it was torn down, found a piston skirt missing. Again, couldn't hear it at all RPM's.

Does anyone know what rear sway bar can be used after doing the 3" rear spring relocation? I would like to relocate the rear springs on my Valiant but I also want a good rear sway bar.

He forgot mention that in the late 60's not many people could afford a Hemi, when the average wage was $1.25 per hour. The ones that could, usually terrorized the neighborhood. And, yea I'm that old!

Was thinking of using them on a 273. Would the magnum heads improve the performance? And, would it be worth the time and money?

Anyone have experience usint Magnum heads on earlier small blocks? I am considering them for a 273. Any experiences or ideas?

Sounds familiar. I had a pecking noise in my 340 and during tearbown for rebuild, a piston skirt was located in the oil pan.

Anybody plan to attend the Mopar meet in Bristol this year?

I'd like to be in Jamestown right now but I guess I'm stuck up here in New Hampshire for now. Have to make a living. I'm sure my toys are Ok back home in the garage. If my memory serves me right, Burksville is just West of Albany. My home is 20 mi south of Albany.

Jamestown near Crossville and Cookeville.

My home is in Jamestown. I really don't get there very often as I work in the Northeast but I do have my Valiant and Duster to work on when I am there.
