    A body wag.....

Picked up a Dart wagon on Monday. Been wanted a Valiant or Dart wagon for years. They are hard to find. This one is factory 273 with factory air! Runs and drives great, and has interior that is awesome and doesn't even need anything but cleaned up. Planning on doing a pro street type deal, and...

    Early B body 8 3/4 question

I have a housing that appears to be out of an early B body. Its 44 inches from spring pad center to spring pad center, and about 54 1/4 inches from flange to flange with the backing plates gone. Looking to use this under my Gremlin bracket car, and have a question. Are the axle bearings the...

Suggestions to contain rubber from burn outs

Im not saying my way is the only way, but if you want something that works 100%, doesnt harm your paint, and is quick and easy then here you go. 1. Wax the rear lower quarters good. Make sure they are good and clean before waxing. You will only need ot do this occasionally. 2. After buffing...

    Deep rear sump oil pan

Who makes a deep pan for a LA small block that is rear sump? I know these are for trucks and vans, but I am putting the engine in an AMC Gremlin and it is a front steer system. Thanks

Anybody put a LA Mopar in an AMC Gremlin?

It will be race only, and will have a cage, frame connectors, Cal Tracs, and a 10inch tire. I will spend some money on the body/suspension. The part where the budget comes in is in the drive train. It would cost me pretty good to find an AMC engine and trans, then build it all. I have zero AMC...

    indy/rhs headed 408 timeslips(combos)

I have a set of Brains RHS heads on my 408. I run low 6.80's in the summer heat, and mid to high 6.70's in decent air. Run it on E85. Did I mention that it's hooked to a powerglide transmission? If I had a 3 speed in it, it would go low 6.60's no problem. Have seen the difference in the glide...

Anybody put a LA Mopar in an AMC Gremlin?

Dont ask me how, but I have ended up with a decent 74 Gremlin. For $200 I wasn't just going to leave it there for someone else to buy. Want to make a little bracket car out of it. Something that could be built on a budget and go low 7's in the 1/8th. At first I was thinking that I would pick up...

Need roller lifters, mine are junk

Got no idea on the spring pressure. I was running 20 thousandths lash on the intake and exhaust. Mine were the 8043 lifters, and if you do a google search, there are some other guys who have had issues with the axles being pushed into the body.

Need roller lifters, mine are junk

Wanted to see what some of you are running for solid roller lifters. Application is a stroked LA small block. I was running a set of Comp solid rollers. Cant remember the part number. Ran them for two full race seasons, and started noticing that I was having to tighten up the valve lash a...

linelock and 2 step, one button?

It may not be. I've just always heard that it was illegal to do for safety reasons.

linelock and 2 step, one button?

I'm not trying to be the rules police here, because in all honesty nobody will probably ever know you are doing it, but it's not legal to use a 4 wheel line lock system to stage the car. At least that's my understanding. Supposedly, can only use it on the fronts for staging. Just sharing in...

(VIDEO) Suspension HELP for 70 dart swinger drag racing!

Wish I would have seen this earlier. I run a 71 Dart with almost an identical set up. Almost never figured out the set up. I have a 408 with a powerglide and 4.86 gears. Leave at 3400 on a trans brake. Also have Cal Tracs with Calvert front and rear shocks. You didnt need double adjustable...

    Help....throttle cable/gas pedal set up

Its a 4150 double pumper from AED that I had converted to alcohol. I follow what you're saying and will check to see if I can move it and get what I need. I have it located in the biggest hole on the linkage with a small heim joint. Thanks

    Help....throttle cable/gas pedal set up

Thats the thing Tony, the cable is tight as a guitar string. its like pedal travel is the problem if that makes sense. Kind of hard to explain over the internet. With it all hooked up, the cable end of the pedal is pulled tight to the firewall, and the cable is pulled tight as possible between...

    Help....throttle cable/gas pedal set up

Hey guys, Got the factory pedal in my 71 dart, and have a Lokar cable and mount. My butterflies in the carb are not opening fully before the pedal hits the floor. Heres the deal. The part of the pedal that the cable slides into is all the way against the firewall when everything is hooked up...

    Deadly Wagon

Its for sure more consistent than gas, though. I know guys who run the number on gas. However, they are more prone to be off the number during the window between day and night when the sun is going down. just because gas is much more sensitive to air changes. E-85 was very consistent, and a...

    Deadly Wagon

Changed from E-85. Car would go high 6.90's in good air on the E-85. Mostly ran around a 7 flat average. Best pass on the methanol is 6.864 so far. Normally, I've seen guys pick up about 2 to 3 tenths over gas.

    Deadly Wagon

I'm just about done sorting out my Volare wagon bracket car after converting it to methanol. Was having a hard time staying green because of the car moving so much harder than before. Played around adjusting the car on friday test and tune to try to keep it in the beams a little longer...

    Mopar oil filter relocation

dont mess with it. They leak like a sift, anyway. Go to NAPA and ask for oil filter 1348, and it will screw on and not touch a thing. At least it doesnt in my dart with Dougs headers.

    putting the Wagon on methanol

Ok, got it to the track on friday night for some testing. Carb runs really really good. Started out with 150 jets and made a pass. first two things I noticed was the throttle response was out of this world, and the wheels coming straight up out of the beams. Best 60ft on E85 has been 1.50, and...

    putting the Wagon on methanol

I fired the wagon up on the methanol for the first time last night. Carb was pretty close to my surprise. Had to tweak on it just a little, and it was running very well. It doesnt even sound like the same engine. There is a very noticeable difference in the throttle response vs when it was on...

    putting the Wagon on methanol

Been running my Dart and my Volare wagon on E85 the last two years. Won the track championship last year using both cars, so I cant say anything negative about E85. Its been good to me, and I plan to still run it on the Dart. I had an 830cfm E85 carb on the wagon. When I bought the car it...

    Lesson Learned

This is the way I do it as well. I never lift the throttle and just gradually put more brake pressure down as I near the stripe. Works great on cars that are not way faster. I run "Box" class every once in a while. If I am running a dragster or something way faster that I know I wont be able...

    JW Ultra Bellhousing (Wanted)

I don't have one, but I do have some advice if you care for it. I had an Ultra Bell on order for over 6 months for my Dart. They kept saying 30 more days everytime I called. this was 2 years ago. I finally grew tired of it, and ordered the TCI conversion kit with the plate. After I...
