You are really chasing your tail on this issue. Just install manual discs and be done with it.

Honestly, instead of spending money on a drum system, I would just ditch the power booster and do a front disc conversion. Manual discs require very little effort on these cars.

Are you running drums in front or disks?

I would start with bleeding the entire system. Bleed them until all of the old fluid is out and see where you are.

A bunch of those rear brake lines are 40+ years old. People never check them. Changing it would be a good thing even if your brakes were working fine. And changing may just solve your problem. Could be a win win situation.
