    Carb choice

With the performance build the 750 probably makes sense. However, the tendency is to over-carb a build and then the car doesn't perform as expected. You might check out a Street Demon or something like that. The car might be really responsive to something in the 670-700 range.

Barrett Jackson - 1970 Dart Swinger

Checking out the Barrett Jackson auction on TV yesterday. They sold this pink 70 Swinger. I was kind of shocked that this car went for $59,000. My friend can't get near that number with an original, restored, big block, 4-speed GTS. 1970 DODGE DART SWINGER - Barrett-Jackson Auction Company -...

Valiant is no more, Drunk Driver totaled it.

Very sorry to hear about this, particularly with a car that has so much personal value in your family.

Are A bodies more popular than B bodies?

A-bodies draw a lot of attention in my area because we seem to see a lot fewer of them than B-bodies. However, just given that if I go to a show, I will likely see far more B-bodies than A-bodies, I would say that the B-bodies remain more popular. Many A-bodies also had the wheels driven off of...

    Interior vs Body Work

Budget is probably the deciding factor. The interior can be redone for cheaper and more quickly. Body work will likely cost a good bit more and take more time. The point about eventually having to remove the interior to do the body right is on the money. If you can afford it, do the body first...

    Console....

Yeah, it was pointed out to me a few years ago when I was working through the build. Honestly, I never bothered to flip it back over. In that picture, it was already tack welded in place and it was much later in the project before I ever realized the problem. Console still rests on it the way it...

    Console....

I like the look of the A-body console. My car came with factory bucket seats but column shift automatic. Converting to floor shift so I could add a console was the first thing I did. Buckets with nothing in between made zero sense to me. I don't usually need the arm rest - I have a habit of...

    Pulsating vibration while cruising??

I had a similar problem with my Dart (although with a 7 1/4 rear end). The pulsing got worse at higher speeds. It turned out to be a bad bearing at the rear axle. I will admit that I also had a bad u-joint in the drive shaft that seemed similar. I could feel that vibration in the hump down the...

What Are You Doing To/With Your Car Today?

Noooo! Say it isn't so!?! I get asked if mine is Hugger Orange all the time (actually it is one of my favorite colors). But I went with Hemi Orange. I just couldn't put a Chevrolet color on my car. But I but it will look awesome.

    Let's see your Dodge pickups

This is exactly what I want my next project to be. I am on the lookout for a 69 D100 that I want to build into a street rod pickup.

What Are You Doing To/With Your Car Today?

I really dig this truck! This is what I want for my next project. A street rod Dodge pickup.

    My New Mopar

I generally prefer the 69-69 B-bodies, but that is a very nice car.

    Dantes parts

I have ordered plenty of stuff from Dante's over the years, including a couple of big orders around Carlisle time, and I have always been very happy doing business with them.

    AMC fans on fabo??

This AMX belongs to a guy that lives local to me. It is a very nice car. It is the only car that was built in this color with the interior combination (I forget what it is called).

    69dart GT

That 73 looks like a much better deal for that price. That was simply too much for a largely unfinished 69.

    69dart GT

I know how much I paid for my 69 originally, as well as how much I put into a pretty high end restore/rebuild. For what you appear to be getting there and the level of work remaining, $10,000 is a little steep (particularly for an A-body). If the body needs any real work, then that is definitely...

    Let's see your Dodge pickups

Here's my 2007 Mega Cab 4x4. I am on the hunt for a 69 D100 for my next project. Want to make a street rod pickup out of a 69.

Poll - How far away from home do you drive your classic?

Farthest I ever drove it in a single day was about 250-300 miles. I would be willing to drive it even farther, but the chance has not presented itself yet. And I need to sort out a minor cooling issue first. Eventually, I would like to take it on the Hot Rod Power Tour.

    Car Insurance

Grundy. My Dart is insured for $35K at just under $300 a year. And that was nearly half the price of Hagerty.

    1969 d100

I think I want my next project to be a custom D100 build.

    Selling At Carlisle ?

I would suggest make any transaction at Carlisle cash only, unless you are selling something that will be particularly expensive (so unlikely someone would be carrying that kind of cash). Going through the banking transaction process with the people Carlisle has on site is not a bad idea either.

    first purchase from classic industries

I have generally had good experiences with Classic Industries, and I have bought a ton of stuff from them. You just have to accept up front the "Chinese quality" stuff if you are not restoring original parts. Their customer service has always been pretty helpful as well. My only gripe (a common...

    Challenger Scat Pack Rental

I recently bought a T/A 392. I love my Dart! But my Challenger is a whole different animal when it comes to having fun. This T/A is the most impressive car I have ever driven for sure.
