Finally Found What I Was Looking For - New Ride

Those are the factory correct 15" steel wheels for this particular car. It actually came with the correct dog dish hubcaps, but frankly they looked stupid to me on this all black car. The black wheels make it more menacing looking. When I have money again, I may buy an extra set of wheels and...

Finally Found What I Was Looking For - New Ride

I don't own cars that I don't drive. Completely defeats the purpose for me. I am working through a couple things to get it fully road worthy and it will be on the street soon.

Finally Found What I Was Looking For - New Ride

I shared a couple months ago that I had parted ways with my 1969 Dodge Dart GT. Selling that car was one of the toughest decisions I have ever made. As a result I have gone over to the B-Body (dark?) side. I recently was able to finally buy what I was after. This is the replacement for my Dart...

    Sad Day

I won't have to wait long on my Road Runner. I am going to close the deal on it this Friday.

    Sad Day

You are not the first person to share this sentiment, but truthfully, she has a dream car that is not the Dart. As for her driving, I promised her I would let her get the chance before it was gone - it just happened to be the last day we had it. It actually spooked her a little because old Mopar...

    Sad Day

Yes, I did sell it. Fortunately, it is going to what I believe is a very good new home.

    Sad Day

Well I am sad to report that as of yesterday, I am no longer the owner of my 1969 Dart GT. A lot of blood, sweat and tears (and money) went into making this project what I wanted it to be nearly 10 years ago. This is the only car I have ever loved that I owned personally. My daughter grew up...

They announced a record number of registered showfield cars on Saturday - 2919. Nice to see.

    Car show question

If you go to the show and do not care one bit about winning a trophy, then you will have a blast. I can guarantee you people will want to come up to you and talk about the car. To me that's the best part of any show. There will be plenty of people at the show worrying themselves to death about...

    1969 GTS Trunk Panel Repair

That's interesting to see. The panel can be used for the GTS or GT. The rectangular model strip can be replaced.

Quality repair is costly. This is one of the best options out there, but they are pricey. Home – King of Trim

    a body torque boxes

Can't speak for the AMD torque boxes, but I installed US Car Tools torque boxes on my 69 Dart and I have no complaints at all. Nice fit.

    Your first car.

I don't have a picture, but my first car was actually a truck - 1986 Dodge D50 pickup.

Post your favorite car photo and tell us why

I can't settle on one. So I have two that I would count as my favorites. The first was taken the first year I took my Dart to Carlisle after completing the project. This was taken in front of the Virginia Monument on Gettysburg National Battlefield at sunrise (I am a Virginian after all-and this...

All Mopar Show in Chesapeake, VA Last Weekend

My daughter and I joined one of our forum members for a nice long cruise down to an All-Mopar show near Chesapeake, VA, last Sunday. It was a nice three hour drive one way and the weather was perfect. I was shocked at how many A-bodies were at the show. Usually I can go to a whole season's worth...

Deer season is over for me!

Have not had the chance to even get in the woods yet. But that will change soon. My cousin and I make an annual pilgrimage to West-Central Illinois every year before Thanksgiving to deer hunt. That trip is coming up in a couple of weeks.

    Classic Car Insurance

I have Grundy on my Dart. Hagerty wasn't even close to matching them on price. Granted, I am not driving my car to work, but for what the insurance covers, Grundy was far and away the more cost effective option.

    Drone shot of Carlisle

Having spent the weekend in this part of the showfield this year, that pic is definitely not from this year. It wasn't close to that packed. I also don't see any Superbirds/Daytonas in this picture that would be right in the middle of it if it had been taken this year.

    Some Pics from Carlisle

And just a few more. One of my favorite non A-bodies that I saw at the show (and I don't even like the body style usually). And the sunset on Saturday - from Little Round Top in Gettysburg.

    Some Pics from Carlisle

A little late getting something posted up and didn't see what others had shared. Taken this long to sit down at my computer. Wanted to share some of the A-body pics from last weekend. I have to say, in all my years going to Carlisle, the weather on Friday and Saturday was about as perfect as I...

    Mopar Celebs

I got to meet Herb McCandless at his "museum" in Burlington, NC, during the second day of the Hot Rod Power Tour last year. His collection of old Chryslers was incredible. And his two A-body racers were the highlight for me. He spent 15 minutes chatting with me, my father and two kids. He was...

Went to a Car Show Today and Won an Award

Congratulations! It should never be about the trophy anyway. Just being able to go to shows and talk to people is all I need. I have won some trophies and gotten nothing too. I much prefer the reaction of people when they flip through my picture book. The story is always better than the reward...

    Paint removal

I would recommend aircraft stripper if you can get it. I used it on a number of parts on my car. Or just dump DOT3 brake fluid all over it - that should eat it right off.

    Carlisle info

I don't care if they require wearing a mask under certain conditions. I will follow those rules. However, I would like to know if they expect people who are entering the grounds by driving in for the show field to be wearing a mask while in their car, because that really is kind of stupid.
