    Duster grille resto.

Here we go. This grill was held together with duct tape and chewing gum (no joke). I still have pieces of this grill hanging in my garage. With the things that the previous owner did to this car he should be banned for life from owning any classic car. Paul

    Duster grille resto.

I am not a dedicated follower of fashion so I did what I wanted to do, heck I didn't even paint the slats black. I tried both light argent and medium argent, I even tried the silver for Chrysler rally wheels. I didn't like any of those colors or how they sprayed on. I used a spray can of...

    Shark tooth grille paint

Some of the silver paints smudge or are easily marked up when handled, washed, rubbed, etc... That is part of the reason I picked what I did...so you might want to simulate wear and tear on your test sprays before you paint your grill. I painted my tail lights with a silver (don't remember if...

Personally I would pick up the phone and call. Jim's website said he had 2" clips for Chargers...maybe those can be substituted? Otherwise you need to contact every vendor you can find who sells any kind of molding clips and hope to get lucky, very lucky, if rocker moldings are your dream. I...

Did OEMs wet sand and buff paint?

I used to own a 66 Belvedere that was my grandfather's car. From the factory, it had massive paint runs under the hood and along the firewall. While the rocker panels, door bottoms and fender bottoms had almost zero paint on them and quickly rusted out. I think you got whatever you got from...

Update the hood...Paint or Wrap ???

Approximately half of what you are paying for is the labor and the other half for the paint/supplies/etc anywhere you go. If you are not building a show car... ...you can probably go to some type of collision shop chain (a step up from Maaco) for less than the $900. ...Maaco around me would...

    Help with 1972 Duster fenders

Some pictures might help. I am not an expert but my understanding is... 70 and 71 fenders are exactly the same. 73 thru 76 fenders are the same. 72 fenders are a bit different physically than 70/71 & 73-76 fenders... ...but are interchangeable with 70/71 fenders (so a 70/71 fender will bolt...

    Duster grille resto.

I am using Devcon Plastic Welder. I glued some scraps and broken grill bits together...bent them, twisted them, hammered them and the joints were stronger than the plastic. The main issue for me is that I keep finding more cracks in my grill...ugh! Paul

    Duster grille resto.

I am currently working on my sharktooth grill. You can get small blades at a decent hobby shop that fit into an Exacto knife holder. Also you might have to cut away more than you need to depending on where you can fit a blade in. I bought dark and light argent paint from Roseville...

Anyone ever see a body-colored shark tooth grill?

Hello All, I was in a Chrysler dealership today and I bought some argent paint to repaint my sharktooth grill. I know this is sacrilege, but on the wall they had a grill for a 1971 Cuda painted red (with silver and chrome accents)...so I wondered if anyone had painted their Duster's grille body...

Cost of a single-color paint job?

Maaco does regular collision/insurance work. You can get any color matched to OEM specs. I have gotten quotes from them in the past, and they are a little bit cheaper than other collision shops but they are not rock bottom prices either. When I had my Duster in there, a local Ford dealer's...

Cost of a single-color paint job?

Cost of a single-color paint job?

Two Stage Maaco...and a semi flat black hood (scoop painted also)...with door ding bodywork, painting jams and underside of deck lid... $1100 out the door. They turned a 20 footer into a 5 footer. The mistake I made was doing nothing myself, Maaco missed a bunch of stuff from knee level down...

    How to remove chrome...

Those are plastic model car parts...won't work the same as chrome metal parts. I have used Westley's bleche-wite and Easy-Off oven cleaner (the classic yellow can stuff) for years doing that on little plastic parts. Paul

Mopar official Fog Lights (as seen on Hang Ten Dart Sport)

The fog light covers look to be soft vinyl... Seems like you could buy some generic round driving/fog lights and have an auto upholstery shop sew up some plain red vinyl covers...then stencil in some pentastars using vinyl paint/dye for a finishing touch. It would take some work and some...
