I like my 870 street avenger vac sec carb very much and use on strip mostly w some street. It has manual choke but rarely use it.

My suggestion is to carefully remove old gaskets and save them. Because some kits have extras that vary slightly. Compare old to new gaskets to make sure you get correct ones.

Need some help with the correct position of the lifter lever for meter rod. When I took apart, it was in position 2. It had been running ok when shut down 7 yrs ago. The diagram on rebuild kit show pos 1. There are wear marks on both sides. Thanks for help.

In process of replacing my tank. Couldn't get siphon to work thru fill tube, so pulled sending unit to siphon there. Had cleaned tank w acid 10 yrs ago, so time to replace.

Put a pressure gauge on pump to see what it puts out. Also smell dipstick to check if pump is leaking gas into oil.

This is for Hellrats or other than can answer question. The purple wire on Hellcat's 6pack picture goes to idle solenoid. Where does that wire connect on other end. That wire is missing from my 6 pack setup. Has been since I bought it. I need to get working to help some of my idling issues.

A good place to start is when float assy screws in and the lock nut is fully threaded onto top of assy there should be about 1 thread showing above nut. That should get you close.

You can do needle and seat without pulling carb out. If that doesn't fix it, check float for gas inside from leak if it is hollow brass.

On my 6 pack the center carb was 4792 and end ones are same as yours. The specs are center carb 350 cfm and each end carb is 350 cfm. I think the 440-6 had a 500 cfm for center. I had to get new bowl for one of mine and Allstate Carbs had new bowl with correct numbers. They have all parts and...

Thanks for reply fishy. Yeah, didn't know about floats, just as I didn't know about extensions until I found them and had to look them up. As it was I could shorten extensions in few minutes rather than order and wait for new float.

I had a frustrating day and night with fuel system setting float on Holley 870. I changed jets on secondary side and then changed needle/seat assy on both sides because seemed to be extra rich. So set float on sec by sight, and when assembled to adjust needle by sight hole couldn't get it to...

If the needle seat is questionable, just replace it. No use chasing the problem over a $12 seat assy.

I have used the muriatic acid also with good results. Rinse out very well a couple times. Then I used a leaf blower blowing into one bung of tank with the tank sitting in the sun to dry it out completely. Did that 6 years ago with one tank and no rust problems since.

With all the recommendations on jet sizes from other members, consider the locations. I see you are in Edmonton and have some elevation. some of those recom come from Calif and may not be right for your elevation.
