yes, to test them, what you need to do is, get in th4e car, sit in drivers seat. with battery hooked up, pull the hazard button towards the passenger side (out). if you hear the tick tok noise, they are working. if you do not, a wiring or relay will be the culpret!
i pray this helps you in...
the last time i ran into a problem like this on a 71, someone replaced the alt with a double feild wiring, and put a single feild alt on. so what was happenening, it was internally grounding, cause too much charge. i forget the full scope of it, but in my profile there is a thread on it.
abody joe, do you still have that picture of how you wired yours? it has been too long and now does not show. i am now doing it to pinky, but forgot how to!.lol thanks. oh, btw, it worked perfectly the last time
ok, first pic is of the wires that go to the altenator. there are five wires. in order from left to right, can anyone tell me which are which.
second pic is of the harness right where the oil pressure switch plugs in. but the wire to the right of it i have no clue. is this for the old points...
I do not have your number!. I need a hood, a fender and other stuff from you!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I have no clue where i put your number. Please pm it to me. Thanks
guys, i am having no luck finding a diagram for my under the hood harness. it has a few missing ends,a nd want to redo it. is the rallye dash cars under the hood harness different than a regular harness?
hey, i just pulled a nice infinity radio out of a 99 jeep, and have no use for, cause i already have one in outr jeep. i am sure it is a direct bolt-in ordeal
mine has the grey, black plug-ins, and a seperate white plug in if you have the controls on the wheel, but can still use if you do...
ok, i am trying to get a big block scamp to fire up. but the colunm is busted out. what wires off of the ignition switch do i have to put together for it to have spark at the coil?
thanks
well, i had the same problem with that same black wire. it wound up being that someone put a single feild altenator on a dual feed wiring harness. what is was doing is everytime the car would come off idle, and start to try and charge, it was just grounded out,a nd burning the wire up...
ok the blue/yellow wire i tied into the blue wire off of original ballast, as the blue was the hot side. then i just plugged them both back in. this sound right? the brown wire to the ballast, i do not touch, correct?
yes, ill make you a cup of coffee if you make the trip.lol thanks joe. that is the answer i was looking for, as i cannot under stand that picture.lmao. i am illiterate to electrical drawins
now what i do not understand, cause i have a ballast resister up un the firewall, near the master cylinder...................... points has one too?
i have the ecu plug-in, and i am wondering can i just tap into the stock harness? i have no clue how to read a electrical diagram
ok. the 72 duster i am working on had points ignition. so i installed my msd box. but stupid me, when i hooked up my toggle switch under the dash, i put the wires on wrong. so i fired my msd.
now i have a old harness that is electronic ignition. but alot of ends are hacked off, so i want...
only time i had this problem was when i bought a car, it would do like described above. found out after taken the car for a 15 minute cruise, the dummy before me had put a dual lead alt on a car that only had one grn and one led off of the alt. so at idle, it would not charge, but once i got...
so you think it is called ripping him off? over a set of buckets and headlight bezels????come on.
the car has a 72 dart grille. when i got there, i asked you about the headlight bezels(part of the grille), and you said, they are on the seat. so i looked in, and they are the aluminum ones...
you are right. i knew the bezel were different, as they were sitting on the seat. but he is talking about a different bezel than you think. the bezels that were on the front seat were for the grille. they also were for a duster, but i did not give him them with the car. the bezels he is...
same way as you telling me over the phone that the driver side trunk extention was not rusted, and that the prior owner started cutting it out, and then left it alone. that also was not the truth. there are no cut marks in it. that was just a figment of you imaginatioin.. AND LOOK, EVEN...
you are a dickhead, and a liar. cause after i put that battery back in, it turned it over so slightly, and you said it just needed a charge. but now to find out you knew it was bad, to beat me for a battery in the deal. you said running and driving, minus the brake work, and now you tell me...
