    Folks and cars

Car shows and cruise ins is where you'll find people who appreciate the sweat equity. There are always "car snobs" to be found there too, but most car guys, especially the ones that build their own cars, have a common bond. There are a few that I see every summer, and I always look forward to...

    1966 Barracuda build

I'm a big fan of the 66 too! V-8 swap is pretty much a drop in. You'll need a V-8 center link to clear the oil pan, and I'm told the 904 fits better than the 727. 727 will work, but you may have to make some mods to to the firewall pinch weld make it fit. Headers are hard to fit with early A's...

Valve job with head gasket replacement?

Very true. For the cost of machine work, and for the end goal of that work, why would anyone go the "cheap" rout.

Valve job with head gasket replacement?

Seems to me a valve head would have to get awfully hot to warp.

Valve job with head gasket replacement?

I had a conversation about a blown head gasket with a guy who owns an auto repair shop. He told me a valve job is in order EVERY time a head gasket is blown because the head of the valve gets hot, warps, and will not seal against its seat. I've replaced head gaskets on engines that have gotten...

    "New" 1964 Valiant V-200 Convertible

Nice score! That little valiant looks really solid. I like the color combo too. Shouldn't take much to get her running and stopping. October may not be top down weather, but if the top is decent and the heater works, you can still enjoy it before winter sets in.:burnout:

    windshield replacement

Get the stuff that stays pliable if your windshield installs with the gasket/lockstrip. Stay away from 3M Window Weld if yours requires a gasket. There is also a butyl rubber strip available. http://www.poolpartsonline.com/p-71409-leakmaster-butyl-tape-bt15.aspx?gclid=CLXf4ZaHkL0CFclDMgodqy4A_w

    legendary auto interiors ltd. problems?

new to the board and q's about a possible purchase

The seller knows the car is only worth 1000, so he asks 5000 knowing you would feel bad about talking him down to 1000. That way he gets 2500-3500 out of a car that's worth 1000. Be careful.
