timing was about 35-38 btdc initial.......maybe that's why it was popping a little through the exhaust. Set timing, replaced plugs and now she is happy.

Has anyone tried using the summit dual exhaust kit for 67 up on an early A? I would be ok with slight mods needed. I have a 360 with spitfire headers and a modified trans crossmember for duals. The exhaust I have now is somewhat "butchered" and I want to try and keep it within that price range...

If it came out of the 66 and no mods were done to the 66 it will bolt right in. Of course you need all the hardware and shock plates too.

After closer inspection I think I have to trim the bottom of my door panels. I made them myself and may have cut them a little too long. Looks like they may be interfering with the door seal at the bottom. Two steps forward and three back. Will update once I trim them.

Yeah, I ordered the same ones as you from rockauto. I never had this issue with the old ones, they were REALLY old, torn and flat though. They have been installed for a week now and I thought maybe they had to relax some but, they are still the same after a week. I will try the door adjustments...

Darter6, I bought and installed the same item for my 63 and now the doors are extremely hard to close and lower door seam is bulged out. It gets harder to close even before the rear portion of the door is latched. Could the door alignment be holding it up? Did you have any issues with this?

I tried that and I gave up trying to figure out how to mount it. It was a pain in the .......:) Just going to go with a thin aluminum piece with rounded edges to cover it up.

Funny you ask about the wiper motor. I had to "masage" the fire wall. Broke the wiper mounts the first time. Had to get a new motor......did the same damn thing going to a 360 from a 318:violent1:

She hasn't seen light of day for 2ys:( Still need to fabricate a rear bumper and mounts and add some aftermarket reverse lights, fill in the front grill area and add some bumperettes. Throw some paint on her and drive her like a maniac:) At least the posi still works:)

Just remember that if you start checking the ammeter to disconnect the battery because one side will still be hot. There are numerous conductive surfaces around the terminals that will make a nice portable welder if your not careful. Good luck with it.

Thanks for the positive feedback:) Backerboard was bought at Lowes. It is the same stuff that peg board is made of. Not perfect but I did it myself.
