I'm not in 1972 A-bodies. But for 1965 there was one assembly line filter to get rid of the internal dust. The dealer changed it to an over the counter oil filter. Same thing with fuel filters. So it depends which route you wanna go?

Los Angeles assembled cars started with CAP in 1964 on 1965 A-bodies. Dart for sure!

Welcome onboard! Looks like it's an later V8 due to type and position of thermostat housing. Check engine size casting on left side of the engine block above the stsrter.

I have three 273 Charger engines, all of thrm with Egge Pistons. Even has one engine with a set of NOS 10,5 postons in standard bore. Works great.

The vacuum were for the brake booster and an air condition.

The upper gasket is the right side and the lower gasket for the left side for a 273, 318, 340 and 360 from 1969 and on.

Dealer installed a/c unit. That fits the crank!

I had one of those air cleaners on a 1968 Dodge D500 ttuck.

Don! I think the 273 was a good choise. At the end you will have a reliable engine and you already had it too!

There are different balancer between early and late smallblock. It's different from the year they moved the timing tab to the drivers side. It was built in in the timing cover.

I totally agree with you Toolman! Between the place for each ignition wire you can see that square hole for the insulator. But wasn't those insulators on 66 as well?

I thi k 67s are different. You have a small square hole in between the loops. That's where the insulators hook up.
