where do you buy your parts???

I do a lot of shopping for parts on ebay. There is a magazine called Mopar Collectors Guide that has a lot of classified ads as well as mopar only vendors. Also, this forum is a fantastic resource for parts.

How do 318 powered A-Bodies do in NHRA PURE Stock?

Is the Pure Stock a NHRA class? I have seen the Pure Stock Drags and the FAST racing but they are limited to certain tracks in the midwest I think. It would be a fun type of racing, but again you are up against the guys with money to spend. NHRA stock is also about money now. And they wonder why...

The future of Hot Rodding/Muscle cars ect?

I think hot rodding, particularly drag and circle track racing, is becoming more and more money driven. At least with drag racing we have bracket racing. But to play in the super classes or any professional classes takes a lot more money than I will ever have. Hopefully there will be a grass...

    A-Bodies in the snow?

find an old air cooled vw beetle for cheap. I used to buy them and drive them through the winter to save my nice car from getting beat up. The heat in them is no good, but they do pretty well in snow. I bought one that I drove home recently for $400. It needs work, and I have 3 4x4 vehicles, but...

What Products are Needed in the A-body world?

Building an early a bracket car is more challenging than the later a bodies. To use a 727 trans, you have to mod the trans tunnel. How about a about a pre-fabbed weld-in tunnel to install a 727 if a guy wants to do it? A back-half kit for an early a would be awesome. I'm one of the only 2...

    Where's Dodge in Nascar???

In the golden age of nascar, the 60's, it was about "stock cars". So the factory produced cars the were raceable. Thats why Chrysler & Ford dominated. When was the last time you saw a pushrod rear wheel drive toyota? It's about the money, sponsors and the drivers. There is no ingenuity, because...

    People think Mopar is slow??

I always ask these big talkers to produce a time slip for me and the ones that talk the most seem to be"well, I used to have a car that" and other such bs. I always say, any wednesday or friday night in the season at the strip I will meet them there and we can settle it.

    problem bleeding back brakes

I just got finished with a 71 Nova disc brake conversion and had the same issue. I wound up having my buddy pump and hold the pedal and I bled the lines between the M/C and the prop valve, and the outlet fitting to the rear brakes. It took a lot of pumping to clear the air out of the rear lines...

I am the only mechanic for all of my vehicles, wouldn't have it any other way. The newer cars are going to make it harder to be your own mechanic, though.

    chevy with mopar power!

I love the idea! It sure beats that altered wheelbase 63 dart somebody had on here a couple of years ago with a small block chevy for power. I think the guy got tired of the criticism, esp from me. Way to go!!!

Small thing that irratates you about your car

Mine has a very wierd problem that drives me crazy. When going downhill and using the brakes, there is a bad electrical short that kicks the dash power breaker I installed. If I unplug the t/s switch harness it goes away, but I have no brake lights either. I installed a new t/s switch a couple...

    Comparison 340 / 289

289 is giving up too much displacement to a 340. I have read that back in the day, the 289 K code mustang was the D/Dart's nemesis. I have had 289's, 302's and also small block mopars. A better comparo to the 289 would be a 318, and the 318 was torqueier for sure. I still like those small block...

increase in posts about putting non-Mopar parts in A-Bodies

Things have changed a lot. Many years ago, in the 60's & 70's when I was in school, there was a lot of brand loyalty. My dad passed it on to me, back in the 60's the best engineered cars came from Chrysler. They made the best engines, trannies and diffs to drag race with. I still am brand loyal...

gonna take a peak of this on saturday

Those are good ol' trucks despite what anyone says. I had 3 different ones; 2 '77's and one 75. My friend still has his 76 from high school. Yeah they rust, but what 70's pickup didn't? You don't see much foreign iron from that era because they rusted out. 390's a good motor, torquey for sure...

4.0L HO Jeep Cherokee Build Thread?

Those 4.0's are good engines. Several friends have swapped the 258 crank in there and made torquey little engines out of them for cheap. There are always tons of the engines out at the wrecking yard. Should be a fun project!

WTF at the drags last night

I took mine to T&T a month ago and not only are the mopars severely outnumbered but it seems the american brands are outnumbered these days. I plan to only go to T&T if I absolutely have to. With 400 cars showing up on a typical Wednesday night, you can sit in the lanes for over an hour for each...

Again, good work Seth. I use whatever is cheap on my 2 Ford daily drivers but only use WIX or NAPA on my Mopar. Got to take care of the important engine.
