    TTi Headers,What Starter?

I have tti's, 904, and an ebay $79 starter has worked with no mods for 6 years, even had room to wrap it with a summit heat shield blanket.

    440 into 64 Valiant?

Don't get me wrong, I LOVE big block mopars, but if it's just a street car, a 4" stroke small block will give you plenty of torque and fits easy. A lot less work, jus' sayin'.

    Header questions

I have had the Dougs, they are great, just a little idler arm rub. I have the tti's now, harder to install, but work great. I use a stock chrysler mini starer and it's close to one of the tubes but fits, I use a heat shield from summit and wrap it around the starter. No issues.

    Early A Body stress cracks

picture maybe? The quarter seam is on the top of the panel and covered by stainless trim on mine, but I have not seen any cracks, just the seam and spotwelds.

    66 Dart Owners thread

Might fit, probably rub. I have 3/4" mopar spring relocation and a narrowed b body rear housing and a 255 fits good. Hooks good enough for 1.62 60' times with m/t drag radials.

    Doug's headers instillation

Having installed both Dougs and tti's in mine, the Dougs are an easier install because they are a multi piece header. I have a 904 trans however. The coating on the dougs is polished and looks better than the flat aluminum paint looking coating on the tti's. The advantage on the tti's is they...

    question about 66 dart

By standard dart 2 door I assume you mean 2 door sedan, or "post" car. The D Darts were all GT's as far as I know, which would make them hardtops. There is some info on the web, I have found it by typing in D Dart on google. They were 273 4barrel 4 speed cars with a different solid cam and...

    66 Valiant 2 door non-post weight??

Well, my 66 dart 2dr post with the slant, 904 and full interior weighed 2880. Now, with an alum headed 408, 904, 8-3/4, x-pipe exhaust, no interior, no heater and plastic seats weighs 3029. Both weights without me in it. So I'll bet you're around 3000.

    TTI Exhaust on Early A's

Don't get me wrong, I think tti does a great job.....but the consistancy is a little hazy. I followed the instructions to a tee, but still had to modify things to make the headers work. The biggest hassle was moving the brake lines. My prop valve is in the stock location, and I know the headers...

    TTI Exhaust on Early A's

    904. It doesn't look like it will come out without loosening/removing the headers, either. Fun. Mine is going to need freshening this winter.

    TTI Exhaust on Early A's

BTW,I used a stock mini starter and it is VERY close to one of the tubes (<1/32"), but no problems so far. I wrapped it with a summit heat shield.

    TTI Exhaust on Early A's

I installed the tti headers into the already existing x-pipe system about a month ago. I replaced the Doug's that were on the car. I had to run new front brake hard lines to get them away from the headers, but I have the 73-76 disc on mine. Stock I don't know. I had to move my shifter cable. The...

Replacing steering column on 66 Dart - questions

There is a bearing under the steering wheel that could be lubed, you have to remove the 'wheel and horn parts to access it. The coupler at the steering box has light grease in it. You can find a kit which has the parts necessary to rebuild the coupler, found a kit on ebay. You must supply the...

    tti headers

I took the plunge and bought the tti early a headers to replace the Doug's I had on the car. The tti fitment is not as good as the Doug's. Even though my crank centerline was the 4-3/4" required by the instructions, I still had to shim the pass. side motor mount 1/4" to clear the idler arm. So...

    Header Question

66 is an Early A Body, the 67-up headers are different and won't fit. TTI, Doug's and Spitfire headers are undercar, Hooker makes fenderwell style. None are cheap.

    repost from exhaust: TTI636vsDougsD450

I have the dougs in my 66 and they are a great header set. I am going to the tti's for my 408 as I think the 3" collector and 1-5/8-1-3/4 step will flow better than the Dougs 2-1/2 collector and 1-5/8 tubes. Drivers side tbar definitly has to come out with the Dougs, I don't know about the...

Finally! My '66 Convertible is in the Paint Booth!

The car is very nice. I don't see any of the typical rust on it. Is the humidity high there? Lots of rain? If so, it's amazing that it's in the shape it's in. By the way, do they really restore toyota celicas over there? I haven't seen one here in years! They all rusted out and were scrapped I...

    1965 D-Dart CAR CRAFT 1965

I actually have that issue and I love the way they made the best of the parts available. No aftermarket parts yet! How about the homemade rear suspension! Great to see the innovation back then, before the money took over the sport.
