    I had .060 taken off my heads and they cut the intake side but don't know how much. Didn't do anything to the block or intake and didn't have any problems.

    Help identifying pistons and cylinder heads

    https://www.mopar1.us/headcastnumber.html This shows the heads to be 83-86 police heads with 1.78 intake and 1.60 exhaust valves . I don't know the difference between police heads and other LA heads of those years.piston may have other numbers or markings on the bottom that may help identify them.

    318 cam

    I did a similar cam years ago in a 74 350 and it was a dog. It had less grunt below about 3000 rpm than the stock cam. Changed it to a crane energizer cam that had an advertised duration of 252 and it was way better.

    Valve springs

    What valve spring for Mopar Performance P4120231. It Is the 284* and .484 lift with 1.5 rocker arms. I will be running 1.6 rocker arms which should be .516 lift. I'll be using j heads but will be going to aluminum heads if the 10.9 compression is to much for cast iron heads. I don't see any...

    Cam Question

    Thanks for the input. I think I will go with the Comp XS274S. My heads flow pretty good at 255 @.550 and have 1.6 adj. rockers. It looks like it will make power where I can use it. I think I would rather leave a little on the table than have to much cam.

    I am building a 360 for my 66 Valiant. I will be running a 4 speed 3.55 rear. This is what I have so far- 76 block 4 inch crank, 9.5 compression, J heads 2.02/1.60 valves, Performer RPM intake,TTI headers. I have a Erson cam p/n E420421. This is what I know about it 296 advertised duration...

    360 Heads have been cut .060" which is to much for hyd. rockers. If hyd. pushrods are only about .100 shorter - mech. pushrods should work.
