I am building a 360 for my 66 Valiant. I will be running a 4 speed 3.55 rear. This is what I have so far- 76 block 4 inch crank, 9.5 compression, J heads 2.02/1.60 valves, Performer RPM intake,TTI headers. I have a Erson cam p/n E420421. This is what I know about it 296 advertised duration intake and exhaust 228 @ .050, 472 lift in/exh, 108 lobe center. I would like to have around 425 hp. think this cam will get me there or would something else work better.

That cam will be pretty mild with a 4" stroke, If the heads are prepped for a higher lift it might be worth installing a better cam, Something around .520-.530 lift with Dur. @50 in the mid-upper 230s./lower .240s

Without having better heads, you'll need more cam to give it some breath. I think you'll need something like what JoeDust mentioned, but I'd want the lift to be a little more...

Remember, for a street car, it's not the HP, it's the torque that you feel. If your engine will be in a mostly street driven car, then you might be better off keeping it on the mild side. .....even with a stroker.

Thanks for the input. I think I will go with the Comp XS274S. My heads flow pretty good at 255 @.550 and have 1.6 adj. rockers. It looks like it will make power where I can use it. I think I would rather leave a little on the table than have to much cam.

One of the members, autoxcuda, has a stroker with that cam. Good stick!
