    rarity of the 265?

-No I never heard that..... I wouldn't believe that for a minute! Reason? look at the old ORIGINAL Mopar "A" Poly-Head engines. the HEAVY "wide blocks"..... THEN take an look at a Mopar "LA" block. they're really close the same! EXTERIOR-WISE they're VERY CLOSE. The oil filter isn't how GM would...

Pishta you'd be sort of right....... the Hemi 6 was a 6 cylinder that WAS to replace ALL the Slant 6's and become a truck motor in the US, and was stopped and Chrysler Australia took on the project!

    rarity of the 265?

Yeah the OP was asking about a "265" in the USA they don't exit here. Those were Aussie Hemi 6 cylinders.... there was a guy I read importing them from Aussie to the USA in California somewhere, but I can't recall his name! BUT to add to this, you had a couple Australian Mopar straight 6...

Thanks for those who answered and or posted pics to answer my questions............. I learned something today with all this! 73 duster possible fuel problems?

It could be that too, the Holley 1920 was known to be a crapper single barrel, and the Rochester 1 barrel was to be half decent....BOTH are very fickle if not adjusted right Altho, the Holley seems to have the most issues with it, that are known.... A lot of times, the stock settings on a...

    73 duster possible fuel problems?

yer buddy that burns through tires, he got the SAME slant 6 set up, you do? HIS might have a 4 barrel on it, and makes a world of difference on a slant 6.....That make his a super-pak 225, OR, what was the other one? Hi-Po 225???? There is a bit of difference with them depending on the carb set...

    /6 puking problem

....I was gonna mention the balancer seal, it is puking oil from there, or how it sounded, the seal itself, however would NOT leak coolant tho....UNLESS there is a stress crack, or a bolt pierces the coolant cavity of the block....No coolant leaks around the head? Intake?, How about the...

    Sweet sounding slant

I have ta say that Slant does sound good....... even when he "romped" on the throttle linkage a little it still sounded good! BAD *** Slant 6 you betcha! I just wonder with the intake, what sort of HP that gives that 225?

    198ci

Thanks Dan! The colors of the Slants at least were consecutive and wasn't "in-question" as much as the remaining Mopar engines were.....No matter what, if you have a '77 slant 6, it was blue no exceptions, from factory. these sort of things are GREAT to know! This will be useful when I'm out in...

    198ci

Dan, THANKS I has assumed that the 198 and 225 were identical, BUT I wanted to know if my assumption was correct. As for the 198, this one I was and am still unsure of.... As for them all, all 3 of them, were they normally in the same year painted the same color? I ask this as the engines...

    198ci

OK besides all the technical stuff, (I know of a few examples) is there ANY "visual" ways besides the block coding, to know which slant 6 is a 170, 198, or the 225? I ask as I know of a few locations of the block not able to "look" for casting numbers and was wondering if there is an easy way to...

  26. 67 Power Wagon

    What the heck..

Well that intake for a slant 6 is definitely a different one! So as it looks first 3 "tubes" fed by one carb to the first 3 cylinders, and then the last 3 "tubes" feed the last 3 cylinders? Wonder how that works/runs/ produces some different power ratings....... Interesting speculation, and I...

    Here's an unusual one...

...went into a lot of trouble to fit that slant in that Durango. Not sure I understand why, maybe all the guy had for a motor. I kinda like it tho!

    Porting a slant six head

I'm not planning on getting stupid with those I have planned to do either, just smooth out the ports and maybe a bit of polishing and all as the guy just what them cleaned up a bit, I'm not even adding in larger valves, just going to re-fit new factory size valve to the head so.....I ought to...

    Porting a slant six head

    \6 Valve cover?

MD, LOL funny! Nahhh....not as delivered from the foundry, but "delivered to the dealership" is more like what I'm looking for! Sadly, I haven't gotten to the 2nd \6 valve cover, or the set of 318 valve coveres, BUT I will, I got one \6 looking pretty damn good! (I'm going to see about getting...
