    Rear axle

lots of threads here on that, short answer is no. All of the proper length OEM axles will be small bolt. You would have to have some made, then have your drums drilled to the proper bolt pattern. I do not believe backing plates and drums from a LBP 8 3/4 would fit but, I am not sure exactly what...

    speedometer question

I would try to clean it off by sliding a piece of masking tape or something else with some adhesive in there to see if it might grab onto the chips..... I don't think a magnet will do anything at all. Once it gets close or touches the metal, the magnetic properties will transfer to the existing...

    Anyone use Lexan?

lemon pledge works well for a cleaner... I used to have a golf car business and an old guy showed me that trick... done that for years on all my plex and lexan stuff.

How long have you owned your car?

I've owned my 69 Barracuda probably 17-18 years.... My wife's 68 Mustang... her dad bought new. (I painted it for them in 83 and told her she could not have her keys back unless she went out with me!)

What Are You Doing To/With Your Car Today?

well, this weekend I got the 440 all hooked up and running in my 69 Barracuda. Now I need to swap the power master cyl for manual so I have working brakes again and put exhaust on it and then I can go for a ride!

    way cool old ride!

Wife wants me to get rid of ride!

that is what I would do... althogh I have a 59 Suburban, my 69 Barracuda, my wife's 68 Mustang (her dad bought it new) and 2 47 Ford COEs (actually one truck and 2 cabs) you can always buy another RAM but, not another Willys! I had a Willys Wagon for 18 years and miss it.... although it needed a...

    1984 318

just make sure to plug the smog ports under the exhaust ports on the heads. If you don't, and you use your older exhaust manifolds or any headers, you will have 8 exhaust leaks!

Do we take our MoPars for granted?

I don't take mine for granted... I just pulled the 360 out (69 Barracuda) and am in the process of putting a 440 back in. It has been down for a while due to lack of funds for repairs and being generally busy with life.. hopefully another month or two and we'll be rolling again!

Anyone have any butt lube? I just got hosed by mech

price sounds right for all they did... remember, you can go to a parts store and get it a lot less than what the shop charges you (they exist to make money, not be nice to us!) so, if you look up all the parts, and double it (maybe not quite that much markup) that is what they wold charge you...

    Car on my mind...

depending on where in Cali it is, maybe someone from the board here will go look at it for you and give it a look. If it realyl could get running easily, maybe they'd get it for you and you could fly out, get it running, and drive it home.... or have it shipped... that is cheaper than having it...

    Heavy duty mechanics ??

are you talking the 5-hole budd pattern? (Widow maker rims originally) If so, Alcoa made aluminum ones, but I don't know of they are still making them. I have an older Step-Van that has 19.5" 5-hole Budd, I had some steel ones made for it but that was probably 20 years ago.. They used a lot of...

How many miles do you put on you A-body?

not as many miles as I'd like to. MY cuda gets about 10 mpg and my 59 Suburban gets 14 1/2. As far as the cuda, it has taken me over 2 years to do something with the tranny... now that it is running, I did a compression test on the 360 that is in it, I noticed I have one cylinder down at 60...

How/when did you learn what you know??

My dad has been into cars forever.. I was born into it. He owned a gas station the first 18 months of my life. Mom would go see him for lunch and put me on the bottom shelf for a nap. My earliest memory is helping him change tires when I was 2 or 3. He built me an electric tractor to drive...

    ?????? about headers

after a few sets of the cheap headers (Hedman, Mopar performance (probably made be Hedman...) and another set) I went back to manifolds on the 318 in my 69 Barracuda. (hung way too low, scraped and collapsed tubes), I stayed with 318 manifolds when I installed the 360 until I saved up enough for...

    favorite all time Daily Driver?

Probably have to be my 61 Anglia. 1600cc Pinto engine, turned 7500 rpm (no, not stock) then maybe my 57 chev shorty wagon, 50 DeSoto, or 60 Willys Wagon. All fun and all daily drivers.

I am posting this here because nothing else makes sense

I have one of the center speaker setups in my wife's classic Mustang. Fine if you want some sound out of the front and don't want to cut holes anywhere. You don't get stereo separation but, you can still hook it up stereo so you don't have to run just one side of your deck and miss out on any...

    met the coolest cop ever....

I was still in high school, just swapped a 318 into my 66 barracuda Formula S and got it running. (when I got it, it had a 273 with a huge hole in the block from sitting with no antifreeze in it) It was about midnight and I went down to hiway 167 in the valley and opened it up to see what it...

Fastest Street Cars In Your Town, 'Back In The Day'

in the early 80s, I had a 57 chev shorty wagon with a healthy 307 and 4-speed in it. The only race I ever lost was to a Honda 750 bike. Man, I miss that car. LOL.

I'm an idiot but have followers

Sounds like a good time!! My cuda is just embarassing with the 360 that runs like crap... it is louder than all getout and sounds pretty good with the cheap summit turbos (20$ ea on clearance) on it dumping right in front of the rear axle, but it doesn't hardly get out of its own way. My wife's...
