My Dart Lite has a build date of 11/75, and is non-power assist. It falls directly into this window. The ultimate goal is to get disc and big bolt pattern on the front, and then use a Scarebird kit on a cut down C-Body 8.75 for disc brakes on all 4 corners.

How do I know I have the large ball joint. If this is what I have, then all I need from the salvage yard, is the spindles, caliper brackets? What rotors do I use? I appreciate the help.

Would I be better off to grab one of these 395.00 kits, and then buy some tubular upper control arms?

The line lock manufacturers advise against it heavily. The solenoid is not designed for long term. They swear it will fail if used as ebrake.

Did you grease the contact points where the shoes meet the backing plate? I doubt it is the only problem, but it could be making the problem worse. All springs in proper location? Lots of these shoes have extra holes, and it is possible to get a spring installed, but in the wrong hole on...

Hawk and EBC are excellent brands. I sell a ton of both. Hawk is my preference over EBC. Hawk has several different compounds to choose from, from HP street, up to Ceramic.

Would there be clearance directly under the ball joint? I personally ditch the shields, as they retain all the brake dust and force it forward on the wheels, plus the reduced air flow.

Update All 4 wheel cylinders have been replaced. We replaced the master cylinder last night, bled the brakes, and adjusted them tight. Pedal is at the TOP and brakes feel AWESOME! It is not quite as good as discs, but it is DAMN CLOSE. Pedal feels firmer then on my 94 Ram 1/2 2wd...

All shoes are in good shape, and are adjusted to where they are starting to touch the drums, and creating slight drag. I am wondering about master cylinder, and that it might be excaping by a seal partially on the inside. I will get them all adjusted tight, and a new master cylinder, and...

Master cylinder was never dry but we are bleeding at the bleeders on the wheel cylinders. The old school method where one guy is in the car pressuring the brakes, the other poor schmuck is under the car, getting sprayed with brake fluid when he releases the bleeder valve.... :cheers:

From what I am hearing, they used drums, and small bolt pattern, on /6 cars through 1976. My Dart Lite, is /6 with small bolt pattern and 4 wheel manual drums.
