    a 340 cam or a comp 262 0r 268 cam, unless you can use the cam thats in it.. add magnum heads 1.6 rockers will be a pluss.. cross winds intake an te eddy u have and headers.. first id find out what cam? heads and CR then go from there..

    i got a 360 with a 40 over bore.....

    a basic fel-pro 340/360 head gasket will work.. 360 =.040 over = 4.04 bore, same as a std 340, but the 360 has the longer stroke.

    get 9.0 or CR use magnum heads (stock w/1.6 rockers) new from eq heads or hughs, or a reman set. next set would be a set of reworked 302, 1.88 valves ect.. but that will cost $$. a set of magnums would be the best bang for the buck.. if you get used mag heads watch them for cracks. cam id go...

    thanks, since the magnum rockers are 1.6 ratio.. should i use the same cam? or should i go smaller, such as a XH262 comp cam? and i beleive i read some where i can use GM 3.1 valve springs, retainers and keepers

    thanks, so i will unhook the vac advance,hook up my vac gage and set the intial at the highest vac reading, lock it down, hook the vac advance up adjust the carb, turn it off . wait a few seconds then fire it up. sounds easy enough, the vacume gage is tool i always forget i have. thanks

    If the engine ran good before being tore apart and a crack is found does that mean that the head is junk? even tho it ran great before? Also are the crack visible and easy to see?

    what i found out is, they have a liftime warrenty, can take spring PSI up to 900 lbs and are made over seas.. and they are bushed.. the overseas part scared me away.. I had enough of that kinda junk..
