Using mustang rotors for 4.5" bc

I did this conversion on my 67 with no issues. I got my machine shop to do what I asked and the install went smoothly. That was about 4/5 years ago and I drive the car daily. If I was going to do another one I would by the later model big ball joint stuff though.

    Offset Bushing ?

I misposted this in brakes but I meant to post it in suspension.

    Offset Bushing ?

Below are photos of my Moog offset upper a arm bushings. The instructions say to use the enclosed washers with the install but I see two things. 1. The flanges on the washers are not slip fit so I assume they press in as shown. 2. Now the eccentric adjustment bolt and the front suspension will...

Front Disc Conversion-Proportioning Valve and Master Cylinder

I converted my car to disc/drums. Bought a stock disc drum MC and a factory proportioning valve from somewhere-probably from someone here. I mounted the proportioning valve in the factory distribution block location after installing a rebuild kit in it. I just built new lines as needed to make...

    Parking Brakes w/automatics

Mine worked in my Barracuda with the 7 1/4 when I bought it. I changed it to an 8 1/4 and hooked everything back up, adjusted it at the splitter and the new works fine. Actually used it up on the lift when tuning my engine in park.

Did I screw up my distribution block?

A couple things, I did the drum/disc conversion to my car and upon completion I had a small drip from the valve. Unsure whether it is one of the five lines that attach to the valve or the valve itself I opted to remove the valve and rebuild it. The valve was built in December of 1971 and my...

Did I screw up my distribution block?

I bought a kit for mine from muscle car research. I downloaded and printed the detailed rebuild instructions, should be doing it this weekend. Have to reinstall it before installing new exhaust system.

Using mustang rotors for 4.5" bc

I did this conversion on my 67 Notch. I am using 15" X 6" X 4 1/2" stock rally wheels on my car on all 4 corners. I had a good machinist to help with the rotor work and put a factory stock sway bar to top it off.

    4-count em 4 MC's

The two on the right are for my car. The left of the two is per NAPA a 67 BC disc/drum MC. The far right part # translates to 71 mopar disc drum. I am thinking the far right one but it means another paint/clear job to get the match I want. Interesting though-My wife is having a field day with...

    4-count em 4 MC's

Far left, original from car, 1st to right, unidentified-just grabbed off shelf and prepped it. 2nd to right, New NAPA 67 disc drum prepped & painted. 3rd to right, new treasure discovered today, NAPA 71 mopar disc/drum fresh out of box. (probably purchased 5 or 6 years ago) Wondering if I...

    4-count em 4 MC's

Well today I dug out all my archived material to put my front suspension together and found a NAPA master cylinder I forgot I even had. This is after painting the wrong one and buying a new 67 disc/drum (NAPA) and detailing and painting that one. (seems kind of puny but correct for the car I...

    10" drum auto adjusters?

Well its going to be a GOOD day! I made the changes Redfish suggested and problem solved. Once again proving that FABO makes it possible for us to build A-body Mopars much easier than without FABO. Thanks All!

    10" drum auto adjusters?

I think Redfish nailed it. Thanks to all, I know what to do now. On both sides I placed the upper cable attachement over the large post. I need to re-do both sides removing the upper cable eye, install the Tee retainer over large post, install cable eye onto small post and re-attach return...

    10" drum auto adjusters?

Here you go! Had all existing hardware that come out of original brakes and new rebuild kits from Rock Auto as well. Photos are of problem passenger side.

    10" drum auto adjusters?

OK, I installed the brakes on my 76 8 1/4 yesterday and did the drivers side first. Came out perfect and seems to be just like the book. Did the passenger side and the auto adjuster seems to centerline too high to engage the adjusting star. Messed with it for a couple hours and gave up. Double...

    Rear distribution block

Getting my 74 A-body 8 1/4 ready to go into the car and i pulled the rear distribution block that attaches to the axle tube. I took the hard lines off the thing no problem but when I tried to remove the soft line (hose) it would not break loose from the block. Anyone know if it is integral with...

    Mustang BBP rotor conversion

I am taking my Mustang rotors to the machine shop today for the required work for use on my KH disc conversion. I re-read my summary and the entire 40+ pages of Longgone's thread and the thought occured to me that they may be able to machine the inside bearing area for the mustang seal, solving...

    LBP Mustang disc summary-----

I went to my machine shop today and talked to him about the machine work needed on the soon-to-be-purchased 66/67 Mustang rotors. He agreed to do the work, thought it could take about 3 hours ($250.00) but agreed to bill me just for the shop time it took. It looks like i will be ordering the...

    LBP Mustang disc summary-----

I have attached my version if the summary of the LBP Mustang disc conversion for 4piston KH brakes. I did this after printing all 6 pages of the thread began by Longgone and needing to do this conversion myself, trying to educate myself. I hope the attachement works as I built it in exell.

Need pic of '71 nonpower brake prop valve

By my book, the prop valve is built into the front chamber of the master cylinder and the block is just a distribution point for the front & rear. JMHO, Rat

    Beyond Belief...

When I was young & stupid. Driving home in my 51 Chev pickup bone stock except for 235 engine. Got off work & heading for the freeway, at the stoplight the pedal went to the floor, NO stopping at all. Downshifted through the intersection, wheeling through the adjoining gas station dodging gas...
