I just installed a Borgeson power steering box in my 74 Duster. Summit sent the box for 72 that has the smaller 1-1/8 pitman shaft Will a pitman arm for a 72 work in my otherwise stock 74 steering setup?

Does anyone have experience with the AC Delco branded rebuilt power steering boxes for a 74 A-body? I need a replacement and don’t want to spend the coin on the firm feel unit. What I’m looking at is about $165 shipped.

Hello, I bought this column used and rebuilt it with new bearings etc. I didnt have the plastic gear indicator so I just stuck the on from my old 74 column in the space with a couple drops of glue for now. Looking to get the right indicator letters and needle. Wondering what this column came out of?

Can you snap a pic of that bolt on tab please?

Is there any way to locate swaybar tabs on LCAs while they are off the car? Lots easier to weld them on while standing up rather than laying on the garage floor...

He has The V8 with AC bars in the car as I do in my Duster. This guy swears these shocks do wonders for the cornering.

I had a guy suggest to me over the weekend to try running a pair of these shocks on the front of my son's Swinger. He says it eliminates that classic A-body front corner downward pitch while cornering. I have never seen anything about them posted here. They do have about the same travel...

Because I am ignorant I didn't know 9/16-18 is a common lugnuts size available at autozone and the like. I'll grab one of the later just to verify my thread...

The nut Tony sent arrived yesterday and it does not fit. The washer he sent along with it does not even fit over the threads. Must be 9/16 on this column anyway.

sorry I don't know this. I lost the nut that holds the steering wheel to the column. My guess is it's 5/8 course standard right thread. Looking to install my tuff wheel and adaptor and I discovered I lost the nut sometime over the past six years, lol Going to see if I can find one in the...

I used an old flap wheel then plumbers emery cloth to prep the shaft on my Duster column. For a budget build, a great thing about this mod is that it only costs about $9 for the bearing shipped to your door via Amazon.

You know I did see this drawing in the 73 manual. I guess it was late at night and I didn't look at the cross section. Guess the spring will sort of find its seat.... Thanks!

I am trying to figure out how the power steering pump assembly goes together on a 74 Duster 318. The cast date of this block is '74 and pictured is the pump that was on the car originally. This motor is not original to the car, but as best as I know, the pump and the bracket shown were on a 318...

My project was a basket case when I bought it. It was over two years ago when the blown motor was taken out. I have been staring at the motor and then then this pump and bracket for a week now and it confounds me how it could possibly work...Any help would be appreciated.....:sign3:

I just got my kit from the dealer and I have a stupid question. My column had a ton of grease in the coupler. Do you fill the coupler with grease before sliding the seal on and crimping the cap?

The small pin is still in I thought I'd take that out after the coupler is off the pump

Heat was my next step. I hate putting heat and hammering on something I'm planning on using again....

I drove the pin out of my steering column coupler, and I get grease and grime gets stuff stuck, but man, I cant get that thing to slide of the steering box for nothin! I had every pry bar I could find between the coupler and the pump with no luck. Any tricks to get it off?
