Is it ok to copy a W5 head and make it better or are we just mad at Speedmaster

I recently saw a new casting from "Steven Sun" on Speier's site and he really gave it a very good review as he is using them for his Chevy program thru Chris Cobb. I have heard that Steven Sun is one of the best China castings and maybe the only one to use.

    Small block w/ 3.79 crank

We used big block chevy forgings in our SBM and the rod length was 6.442, reground rod journal on crank to small chevy of coarse. We did not have that much stroke, we patterned ours off of a couple guys from Cleveland that ran a Duster in the very early days of Pro Gas. There car was black with...

Maybe an other head producer in the game.

You can't find a better guy alive than Larry Meaux to give an opinion on what you are doing ! He is the KING of cyl. head flow and how to make power, just ask Chad Speier who's another great cyl' head flow guy. Watch out for his SS/GTFA Cavalier this year with a 1970 LT-1 350 combo in NHRA.

Broken Piston Ring Found During Tear Down

I just found the same thing with my 440 that I dropped a valve in when I tore it apart. I did not assemble the engine, it came in the car I bought. Looks like the ring rode along and did not kill the cyl. wall, amazing !

    Roll Cage Welding

sometimes I would drill small holes under where the tubes were being welded to the main hoop, kinda make a continuous vent so no gas pressure could get caught in a tube. And yes , below the main hoop thru the plate, floor ect... I tried to hide all my vent holes, you have to plan ahead.
