    big block a body headers

I plan on using a stroked 400 in my '68 'Cuda. Would the Thorley headers be competatively priced with the Schumacker Tri-Ys? I know that Tri-Ys suffer a little in part of the power band, but you always have to give a little to get a little, I suppose.

    H pipe worth it

Come to think of it, my '68 GTX came stock with an H-pipe, as did my '67 New Yorker with a 440. Ma MoPar must have known something.

    H pipe worth it

I can't remember where I read an article, magazine or internet, about a test that was run with dual full exhaust, dual full exhaust with H-pipe, and dual full exhaust with X-pipe. It was done on a dyno. If I recall correctly, the X-pipe out-performed the other two at high RPMs. This somewhat...

    "H-pipe," X-pipe," or no pipe?

I know that the factory "H-pipes" were a great improvement over separate dual exhaust pipes. New data seem to indicate that "X-pipes" are an improvement over "H-pipes." However, are these pipes of any benefit over headers with only open headers and mufflers? Do they provide benefit only with...

H- or X-pipe on side exhaust

Thanks all. It is a consensus! I knew I could get the correct answer to this question here than from any other source. X-pipe it is, then. Thanks again, you guys are the best.

H- or X-pipe on side exhaust

I know the benefit of using an H- or X-pipe in an exhaust system; however, is the benefit achieved only with a full exhaust system? I know the science of using the exhaust pulses to better scavenge the exhaust pipes, but will that matter on a shorter system? My plan is to have side exhaust...

    Purple Horny Mufflers

I have had Cherry Bomb header mufflers on my '68 GTX since 1974. No exhaust pipes. They still sound good. I have always wondered whether I would do better with at least an X-pipe in front of the mufflers.

    How do yours hang? LOL

Looking at my '68 factory service manual, it appears that the V-8 Barracuda exhaust had three attachment points 1-the engine manifold(s); 2-just aft of the muffler inside the axle well; 3-near the rear end of the frame rails on the outside face, aside the spare tire well. As far as the exhaust...
