    Fender Trim

I would be extremely careful sanding chromed steel as the "chrome" is very thin. You might end up with shiny steel instead. Look at some YouTube videos on this. Remove Rust from Chrome in Seconds with Coke and ...... - YouTube How To Restore Chrome (The Cheapest & Easiest Way) - YouTube...

    AMD worth the price difference

If I am not mistaken, AMD also uses the same gauge steel that the original cars used. I'm not sure of the Chinese stuff.

    rust prevention

The rust will likely continue to spread if you do no grinding, cutting, welding, treating, and painting. That's just the reality. It is spreading beneath your paint. Just treating visible rust will have no effect on the rust you cannot see.

Good old useless passenger side mirror!

I normally keep track of vehicles coming up from behind by using the rear-view mirror. However, I like using the passenger side mirror to glance at my blind spot. It comes in very handy when somebody pulls onto a highway from a ramp or changes lanes on a three-lane highway. At least I can see...

    Found some rust

From my experience, a few pinholes in a large rusty area indicates that the sheet metal has been thinned down by rust over time. The pinholes, of course, are the thinnest areas.

What's the deal with these window regulators??

Good deal! I've got to tackle a locked up rear passenger side window on my 'Cuda disassembly. I kinda waiting for the temperature to get down into the 80s, though.

    Hate to ask

A quick look a E Bay showed one for $333 and another for $369. Classic Industries offers re-pops at $280 and $415 (the latter something called Restorer's Choice). I didn't notice anything about hardware included. You might want to check.

MP frame rail connectors vs. US tool ???

Think about what you are trying to achieve with frame rail connectors. Is it not to prevent body twisting (and resultant absorption of the energy meant for the tires)? The more torque you are producing combined with sticky tires will tend to twist any car body, full frame or unibody. I...

    To Mod or Not ?

    1. Many like the '70-'72 bumpers- I was shocked to find out that the rear panel cost $380, then add the cost of the bumper, hardware, and lower panel... this might be too costly to break even... but what do you think? 2. The rear quarter panel extensions: fill the seams or leave them...

The new norm, flat / no shine colors.......

I don't understand the "rat rod" craze. Original rat rods looked like that because the builders did not yet get, or could not afford, a real paint job. To each his own, I guess.

Help I had an accident today ...

Damn, dude, I'm glad you're OK. These guys are right; it should not be too difficult to repair, based on your pictures. I know parts have been getting scarce for our old cars, but think of those that never lasted one year out of the factory.

    OK; Rust-proofing/Undercoating?

I like Rustoleum products and I like the roll-on Dupli-color bed liner (with chunks of rubber in it). I think these products are designed to remain flexible for a long time. The Dupli-color bed liner is designed to go on over paint. The factory asphalt-based undercoating on my '68 GTX was...

    Floor pans and trunk

I like the idea of the rubberized bed liner, such as that from Dupli-Color. It seems to remain flexible much longer than what Chrysler used 50 years ago. Some guys have used it wherever undercoating would be sprayed and it tends to deaden sound. But, I believe the Dupli-Color product is brush-on.

    Outer Wheel tub repair ? ? ? ? ?

I had the same problem when I did some rust repairs on my '68 GTX in the early 1980s. Because there was no replacement sheet metal of any sort available back then, I hand formed sheet metal taken from the roof of an old junker. I basically hand formed the metal off and on the car. It took a...

    lightest a-body??

I remember Plymouth' Feather Duster in about the mid 1970s. I think the only weight reductions were aluminum hood, intake, tranny, bumper mounts, inner trunk(I had recorded the list some time ago). I think the weight saving was less than 200 lbs. I was interested some time ago regarding the...
