How to add remote mirror (from non-remote)

I have a manual outside left-hand door mirror, I would like to change to the remote mirror.

Where do I make the hole in the door panel? Is there already a punch-out somewhere?

going to do this also. maybe someone could measure the location for the contoll hole to be drilled .

The hole isn't in the door panel, it's in the metal at the top of the door. I'll get a measurement in a bit unless someone else beats me to it.

Just drill a hole for the remote switch housings threaded chase, Just make you guide the cables away from window or regulator travel.

I just did this. Look at the backside of the door panel, there is a " knock-out " where the remote thing goes. At least on my 75 there is.

think a guy can figure it out by window clearance and cable movement. car is in paintshop jail at the moment, but probably no knock-out on a 68 barracuda !
