how much difference between 3.91 and 4.10

I've said that myself (I'm 21) However I've found a combination of spirited driving, and too many highway miles have taken it's toll on my engine. For only about 15,000miles on it. Oil pressure is about 40-45psi at 6000rpm with 15w-50 synthetic. Also, "nonsense" is best cured with an overdrive...

how much difference between 3.91 and 4.10

Performance wise I don't think you would know the difference. So I'd take the 3.91s for the extra rev or two at steady cruise.

how much difference between 3.91 and 4.10

I turned about 3300rpm for 70mph with my 3500 stall, 3.91s and 28.5" tall tires.

    Living with 3.91's

Overdrive an option? the Gear vendors in my dads car is pretty nice, i'd think you would have to go with another converter too, to go down to 2.94. Someday ill live happier with the 3.91s and get a stinkin 5spd manual in the thing!

    Living with 3.91's

I run 3.91s. They were great in vegas, i hardly drove highway, tears up to 100mph from a cruise...now im in florida. all the shows and cruises are 30mins to an hour down the highway. I hate them! But...im moving back to vegas, :D lol

    oil pressure Q.

oh i know, i figure its to some crappy machine work (had issues with the shop at the time). No matter though, i've put about 10,000 hard miles on it (its seen up to 7,000rpm, 250* degrees, 3500rpm cruising with 3.91s for hours, etc), still runs hard. I won't bother tearing that engine apart...

    oil pressure Q.

    Aluminum Rad

I paid $25 for the be cool aluminum brackets and $60 for a metal shop to round the edges, tig it to the radiator and tig a petcock in the bottom of a tank.

Will timing advance effect engine temp.

did you go from a holeshot with the srt jeep? i think they're in high 12s...wet or dry.
  15. G

Will timing advance effect engine temp.

i agree with the above, nothing like the load of a holeshot, increasing load on the engine after each gear change, etc. I think the drum on the dyno is about 2200lbs if i remember right. On a full size 'built-in' one atleast. Dyno may get you 'max hp', however it wont tune your combo for a...

Will timing advance effect engine temp.

Absolutely advancing can increase temp. 20* initial is fairly high, i run 15*/36* total

    electric fuel pumps

or get a louder exhaust :D
  18. G

    electric fuel pumps

I run a holley blue pump on my 318. It seems to be working just great, many people use them. The downside is the dang things are plain noisy. I have mine insulated on rubber mounts, entire steel fuel line is isolated from the body to help keep vibration down, still loud.

    Engine Temp.

I'd go 180-190 myself, just fine.

Edelbrock RPM air gap (#7576) on a 318?

You are very limited to 318 port sized intakes anyway. I'd go with some mild porting on the 302s and run an airgap if it were my engine.

what kinda time to expect in 1/4 mile

    Which eddie intake manifold?
  22. G

what kinda time to expect in 1/4 mile

low 14s at the top of its game imo
  23. G

what kinda time to expect in 1/4 mile

cam specs? with no mention of a decent stall converter ill say mid-low 14s
  24. G

what should i run in the 1/4?

wow. my 318 with about 300 maybe 325 crank horsepower runs mid 13s with 3600lb race weight. You should do mid-low 12s when setup right....You have a boat-load more torque than my hoopty, and much lighter..You'll do 12s if you can hook. I was running 16:1 a/f ratio when i ran a 13.6, tuned i can...

    318

Hey there, I've talked to Stu a few times, he hangs out over on moparts a lot. He sent me an alternator about 3 years ago. My dad's decided to keep his car for awhile. We take them out a whole lot these days, well he's got about 2,500mi on it so far which isn't too shabby Take care yourself...

    318

Hey there ,i've been lurkin around. Actually a Performer RPM and an Air-Gap are the same height. I believe the only difference is the open area under the carb and no exhaust cross-over. The runners shoulddd be the same i think. Next up is the 750 :iconbigg:

    318

Just my addition, its interesting to see how well they ran with a 750cfm. I'm running a 318 with a 650cfm Edelbrock Thunder AVS. Very good street carb, turnkey carb. However I think my little mill needs more. I'm running a 13.68 @ only 97mph...doens't quite add up, my top end has always dipped...

underdrive pulley for a small block?

Just becareful on the underdrive. It does slow your water pump and alternator speed down. Most of our alternators can barely keep up as it is with headlights on at idle. . .

    FINAL BUILD no 302 heads

You dont drill the intake. You drill the heads. And if you dont have a airgap yet, they make magnum airgaps, or get a 'summit' crosswind intake that has both bolt patterns. With a reasoning like that, doesnt sound like its has research behind it.... And people are suggesting magnums for no...
