Vintage air is a good system if you get one that works. I installed a few when I worked in a street rod shop and wasn't too impressed. My dad got one for his 50 Dodge custom and has had nothing but problems with it altho the people at vintage air are pretty good about the warranty on...
Me personally, I like them and run them on most of my cars. If you get a new cap (probably have to get a whole new kit for 7 bucks to get one) it should stop leaking.
I did it durring on mine. It will warm up pretty fast durring break in so be ready. I would also use one of those caps with the lever on it for a while on a new motor that way if ou need to open the cap right away you wont burn the crap out of yourself.
I do it by leaving the cap off, starting the motor let it warm up on its own and when the T-stat opens you will see a big bubble come up and your coolant level will drop, thats when you top off the coolant and put the cap on. It's a good thing to do on any car every now and then.
You can check for leaks before starting the motor. I filled my 360 through the thermostat hole in the intake before I put the thermostat in. It's a good thing I did because I forgot the small bolt that is behind the outlet on the waterpump. Talk about a last minute pain in the ***.

I did the same thing with my 360 but I also put in one of those flushing kits in the heater hose that your garden hose connects to. It gets all the crud out of the bottom of your block like rust and 30 year old casting sand. I had a nice sized pile on my driveway when I was done.
The bolt holes in the intake go all the way through. Drain out the coolant so there is non in the intake, set a peice of paper towel under the hole on the inside of the intake, tap it out to the next side up, drill the hole in the housing one size bigger, clean up the shavings and put it all...
When you get the new core dunk it under water and blow air into one end while holding your thumb over the other and make sure there are no leaks (little air bubbles). You can always add more solder if you need to or if you feel like it is too thin in some places. I added more solder when I...
I have been doing this for years on many different cars and trucks and have never had a leak.
For chrome thermostat housings I take some 80 grit sticky DA sandpaper slap it on my table or other flat smooth surface and sand off the chrome on the bottom of the housing in an X pattern. That way...
I was wonderring the same thing so I did a search on www.Partsamerica.com (shucks, kragen) and the part number is the same with and without AC.
The search was based on a 71 dart with a V8.
Part No.

I am with OUTLAW, go with the fan and shroud combo. Right now I am running a stock fan and shroud with an electric in front of the raidiator. It is set at 180* but my 360 is punched 40 over so it likes to run on the hot side so it will creep up to 200-215 in traffic...
Yeah, I was looking at your web page lastnite, (cool story about your car), and was going to ask you about your raidiator, no cooling probs or leaks, how long were the 2 inch angle aluminum you got for the brackets?
this one right...
What do you guys think about this one, How long ya think it will last in a daily driver with a 360 thats 40 over with a small cam?
