My 65 Barracuda also has the same plate but no Hurst logo. Also that shifter boot is not the correct one.

I've had 3 barracudas 2 65's and a 64 and not one had short spears like that. Somebody must of used body filler on the seam as the seam goes all the way down to the end of the long spears.

1965 Valiant, 64, 65 Barracuda are identical hoods. 1964 valiant hood looks the same on the outside but the hood latch is different.

Mine did the same thing on The Demon. I broke the old mirror glass out and had a glass shop cut more mirror glass. I tightened up the 2 screws and put on some Loctite that hold the ball tight and glued the new glass in. I'm sure in 66 they did the same thing as 71 for holding the ball tight.

RJS, if this is the style of mirror you have, the hole is 7/8. This sport mirror is from a 73 Duster.

I mounted the pin in the car put a small bit of grease on the top and shut the hood slowly. The grease leaves a small mark of where to drill.

Here are some pics that should help. The circles area is where the factory location is. You will have to drill that out.

Do you mean the trim peices around the roof line above the doors? I used a wide scraper on the under side to pry it off. I found out it bends very easy so just go slow.

I bought the demon back glass gasket from this guy on ebay several years ago and i was happy with it. he lists it for a barracuda as well...

Mine did this on the Duster. All I did was lube the speedo cable and smoth as ever. I origianlly swapped out speedo's and the dam thing did the same thing. Start with the least expensive first I guess.

Dam I had a 68 too, and I didn't think it had the same lines. Dam I say bolt it on and have a unique Mopar.

I'm not sure the body lines would line up. Dusters have a ridge in the door down low and Late 60's Valiant's have smooth doors that run into the fenders smooth. Unless you could cut up a fender from the duster and weld it to the Valiant fender so it looks good. But hey if you do it it would...

The glue I used was from Dominion (sp). Bought it from a body shop supply place. It held ok and was suppose to not bleed any colour through to the body panals.

You could take out he heavy steel bumper inserts and just bolt the chrome bumber back on. Just leave the peice that the bumber shock bolts too and cut out the heavy iron.

You'll end up looking like this with tubs that size. You will need a frame kit as well. I'm running 21.5 X 33 Micky's on my Duster
