I Have a carter mech. strip pump feeding 2 holley 600 vac. sec. on a small block, no top end problems so far.

I'm running a carter strip mechanical pump with a Eddy street tunnelram and 2 600 holleys 3/8" line (small block). I have not had any fuel starvation problems at 6800 rpm that i know of. I always figured if the Hemi could run two carbs off a mech pump my small block could.

I want to cleanup the outside of them (brushing etc). I don't believe I can get the cleaner in the parts dip mode anymore here in Kalifornia. Plus I hate to take it apart and buy gaskets (even though they are blue). Would good old carb cleaner sprayed on them and toothbrush scrubbing work? WD40...

Rtv black says not to come in contact with fuel. I made a gasket before, but a real pain down in the port area. Anyone use a rtv sealer of any type for mating the two halves? I cannot buy the gasket anymore for the Eddy Stree tunnel ram. Thx, Kevin

Thanks for the input Tracy. It would seem to be a good solution and you could still run the larger fram style in the engine compartment.

Does anyone run a cylindrical style filter before their electric fuel pump? Such as the Russell 650133, or summit sum-230116? Seems like it would be much easier to mount and be out of harms way much more than the big fram style. Also it would give more room for mounting the electric pump on the...

I know about the 12" rule but do ya think they would crawl up under the rear end to check ???? I wouldn't think so. Can you just hose clamp braided line to steel line without leaks?

They are probably made out of country. I would check one out but be sure you can return it with no problem if you don't like it. I think i remember some of those having casting flash and runners not being straight when they first came out.
