What I have done is pull all the plugs and use the starter to spin the engine until oil pressure comes up. Removing any compression makes it easy & using the starter will get oil pressure up quickly without damaging the engine.

They may have painted the hub a different color other than black. The pad surface will clean up first time you hit the brakes.

Tape on the rotors is probably to prevent paint from getting on that surface. Are the rear shocks mounted upside down?
