Thank You damnimcooltom!!That's the information a needed.I discovered yesterday that this heads came from a Brazilian version of Dodge Charger R/T,it's 318 LA heads ,but on the Dodge Dart(Brazil)we had (7,5:1) compression, and the Charger R/T had a (8,4:1).That's the diference.Thank's for the help

So,Maybe when the valve knocked the piston(no damage at the block)and(Did not made a hole on the piston )but maybe damaged the push rods.Is it possible??

With cold engine the noise is there, but not so loud,with the engine cold is just a little noise but as the engine gets hotter the noise gets louder.I feel that the engine have a small and quick lost of power(1 second)at low RPM's.

I think you should change your lifters if you want to stop that noise.I had some bad lifters doing that CLICK ,lifters changed and noise is gone!I know it's just a noise but i'm sure that's not the sound you want hear from it.

Well,i Never had problems with FEL-PRO gaskets,actually,is the best gaskets i can get here!Builded at least 3 318 engine's with Fel-Pro without problems!To tell you the truth people here use lower quality(sometimes hand made) gaskets and they don't have any problems with that, and Like moper...

Hello.Got a quetion about the engine timing on a 318.Should i keep at the point ?And if the engine is a bit over the point?Keep the engine over the point could be a problem? What i want to know is what should the engine timing mark?0? Sounds like a stupid question,i know. but is not!

Change Valve covers gaskets and use the teflon sealer on bolts and should be OK!!!!
