Modifying Auto on the Column Steering Collars - NO Welding Required!!

I may do this mod soon. Getting bored now that the car is done. Smitty's in Hemet should be able to handle that task and load it in cans as well.

Nice work! There has got to be someone who can mix up the factory color paint for stuff like that? I know it has a bumpy type flat finish on it but someone has to do it right?

Any kit you buy you are going to have to massage it in all areas. I bought a kit from http://autoweldchassis.com/rbc.ivnu for the Scamp.... He had to bend me a new Halo because it did not fit correctly. The newer cars headliner "1973" hangs a bit lower than older A bodies. I bought there 8...

    QA1 six-link bolt in

Pay all that $$ and you will only be able to run a stock size tire as far as width. All that stuff they added is right in the way of bigger tires, Mini tub will not help you out of this situation. Sounds like a waste of cash to me. Show stopper, parking lot hopper parts we have here.

    8.75 rear diff,742 case,narrowed 3 in. HELP

The 3rd member is almost worth $800.00 , You should be running to buy it. Truck Axles are fine re splined. They should be good for more power than you will be throwing at them. 4.30 is fine depending on how tall your tire is. May be a lil much on the street but who cares for the price. 742 Case...

    triangulated 4 link help

The pinion angle is not going to change as much as you think. Maybe 1* using poly urethane bushings. Solid rod ends it's not going to move at all. A body's and coil overs the max the suspension will move during travel is about 2 1/4" each way from ride height. IF it does move then you have your...

    Inboard springs on street cars?

Hmmm, I've had them both ways. I can not tell the difference. The car I have now has split mono leafs too and I still don't notice body roll as one would think. I put hella miles on it too.

    CALTRCS-Mono leaf ride height?

I have caltracs right now with -1 springs on it. I also had them roll the front eyelet so it comes off toward the top at the front of the spring. I was told that gives another 1/2" Right now it has 15x12's on the rear with a 7.5 back space. 315/60/15 Drag Radials that are wore to the core! I...

    differential relocate

Just drill a new relocate hole in the spring perch. If you orderer new springs you can have them relocate the centering pin. As stated above your Drive Shaft may now be too short.

    differential relocate

Diff year there Scott. I'm sure a 29" tall tire will fit in his wheel well without moving the axle centerline. It just depends on how low you set the rear.
  21. Mad Dart

    differential relocate

I don't know why you would do that. You can get a 28" tall tire in tbe stock wheel well without moving the axle anywhere. Minitub with axle in stock location I have used 325/50/15's & the rear of the cars wheel lip is 2.5" down on the rim burried... Car sits real low with no rubbing

mancini or jeggs leaf spring xhd 340duster

+1" springs raises the car 1" from stock. Block is used to bring it back for some reason. I would order -1 springs. I did on my mono leafs plus I had them start the bend different on tbe front eyelet to gain another 1/2" there also. No block required.

mancini or jeggs leaf spring xhd 340duster

If you want a lifted car use them. I would keep the old if it were me. Low is a go! I would keep the 6 torsion bars in it also. Hey but again that is just my thought for my intended use. 90/10 caltrac shocks up front and some caltac 9 ways in in the rear.

So how about that, front wheel flew off!

I learned from the High Speed, High Horsepower sand rail gig to always check your car before going out on a Run. I make it a habit to check my wheel lugs just about every time I take the car out. YES I have found them loose on several occasions, especially after a night of whooping it up...

    new QA1 K Frame

I met a guy at the Barona Drags. Old School Mopar guy that makes his own Tubular K Frame with a Pinto Rack that keeps the Torsion Bars in place. A few years ago he was selling them to Summit 80 at a time. They then put in an order for 900 of them and he stepped away from it, he was heavily...

    mini tub axle width

On my 73 Scamp I have 15x12's with a 4.5" Backspace. 315/60/15 Drag Radial Face of Drum to Face of Drum the total width is 50.25" The wheel lip is trimmed on it in addition to the mini tub. On my 67 Dart I have 15x10's with 5.5 Backspace. 325/50/15's Drag Radial Rotor Hat to Rotor Hat the...

    mini tub axle width

Length of the axles depends on the housing length. Are you going to shorten the housing? Most do when mini tubbing. Otherwise you are going to have a hard time putting the wider tires on it because you will need to have a radical Back Space.
