Glad you made it through! My mom got it over Christmas last year and fortunately it wasn't anything too serious for her, but it certainly lingered for a long time. Sorry to hear that this project won't quite make it to completion the way you wanted, but better to live to build another one someday!

Another new car? I remember the old green gen 2 with the black stripes and all the mods and the black with green stripes newer one you had last time. Did you replace that one?

Yep. Got some alignment tools for Christmas, so hoping I can get another tenth or two off the lap times. Hopefully finally have my power steering issue fixed as well. Replaced the fan motor and haven't seen any drips since, so with any luck I'll actually be able to run full sessions this year.

Uh oh, looks like you're gunning for me at the next Viper Rendezvous :D

Not really very close at all. Goes down the firewall from the master and follows the inner fender before it shoots straight over into the bellhousing. Probably never gets any closer than 6" to headers and they're ceramic coated as well. Have heard of the issue though and seems like the...

Actually just had the Dart apart Saturday. Have been having issues with getting it into gear when it got hot. Put a spacer behind the throwout bearing as I didn't think my clearances were quite right and it seemed to be the fix most people recommended. Still giving me problems though, so...

Yeah, the factory pans are double layer to keep the noise down. It's a clever way to do it, but certainly makes it harder to modify. I had a monster cast aluminum one that came with my engine, but took the lazy approach and just bought a center sump swap pan as I don't have the fab skills.

You call that dirty? That looks pristine compared to the mess mine was when I got it home. Granted driving it all the way out and back didn't help it much. It's funny to hear people complain about brake dust on their street cars. Mine literally poured out dust when I took the wheels off...

Yeah, as a Viper guy I have to agree to some degree. Though really the Vette reminds me a bit of a 458 Ferrari as well. Mostly the headlights. They're still nice looking cars and awesome value for the money. I grew up on Vettes, so I can't hate on them too much. I prefer Vipers now though.

No idea how they would compare, but for what it's worth my 04 Viper with aftermarket coil overs has 800 lb/in rear springs and 500 lb/in front springs and weighs 3200-3400 with me. Damping and weight balance has a lot to do with that though. The factory rates were something like half those...

At one point cars had to have fresh air intakes due to law I believe. There is always some concern of "poisoning" a trapped volume of air inside a car, either with enough people using up the oxygen (unlikely, but I suppose technically possible) or an exhaust leak into the cabin that doesn't get...

I think someone on here had done the narrowed seat thing on tubs. Can't remember what section it was in, but I know it's been done. Does give a very neat look. Looks really factory and can have people scratching their heads because they know something is "off" but they just can't figure out what.

I wanted to put in a hoop just for shoulder belt mounts if nothing else, but never came up with a good idea to get one in without cutting up more stuff. The main problem is that a proper hoop requires some kind of front to back bracing to keep it from folding over, but I don't want to cut holes...

Seeing the hole in your floor just makes me even more ashamed of what sits under my carpet after my T56 swap. I have no metal working tools aside from the hands attached at the ends of my arms. For the most part I just used my knee and thigh as a buck to bend a flat piece around into something...
